Add, Remove and Split Audio Tracks using Corel VideoStudio X8
Edited by Colette Cole, Crystal, Eng, OtisPub and 3 others
Welcome to VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to split the audio for editing or removal in Corel VideoStudio X8.
Steps
- 1This would be an existing video that we would like to remove the audio from. Perhaps it's just noise, or we want to do a narration over top, or we just want to play music instead of someone's voice and we don't want the two things playing together. We've already added a video and we're going to select the clip by clicking on it.The first thing we want to do is make sure we have the video we want to split the audio from.

- 17As long as it is a VideoStudio file, we can come back in and change these settings. If we save it like this, this is how we will see it the next time we open it. We can't change anything once we have rendered our video because these are basically individual layers.Of course, we should save any changes we make in VideoStudio by clicking on "File" and "Save" so that it will be available to us for next time.

Questions and Answers
How do I line up the new audio, which I recorded separately?
Hi! I recorded the audio with a better microphone, while my video camera was recording. I like your tutorial on how to split off and delete the original crummy audio. How do I align the "good" audio track with the visuals? Thanks!
Synchronizing a new track with the old video can be a long and thorough process. It can be like jeweller's work where every millisecond counts. Sometimes, synchronizing and editing may even take 1 hour per 1 minute.
- 1By splitting, you can achieve smaller pieces that can be adjusted in duration, location, or speed. To split your audio track in two moveable pieces, click the spot where you want to split it and click the scissors icon.
- 2If your video is behind or ahead of the track, zoom in and move the small piece left or right on the timeline by clicking and dragging the track.
- 3If something in your audio is slower or faster than it should be, you need to slow the track piece down or make it faster as shown in the tutorial.
- 4If you cannot match the video with the audio at all, then you can rerecord only a small piece and insert it.
