You're watching VisiHow, and today I'm going to show you how to access Street view on Google Maps on the iPhone 6.
Steps
1
To begin, we unlock our phone by pressing the power button on the right side of the phone
.
2
Alternatively, you can press the Home button at the bottom center of the phone
.
3
Swipe across the lock screen and enter your pass-code if you have one set up
.
4
Otherwise, simply place your finger on the Home button to use the fingerprint scanner if you have that option enabled
.
5
You should now be at the Home screen
.
In my case, I have all of my applications organized in folders. Google Maps is located in my Travel folder, so we will open that. The Google Maps icon is very colorful and resembles a map. Tap on the icon to open Google Maps.
6
It will either take you to your current location or the location you recently searched for
.
7
To search for a new location, tap on the search bar at the top of the screen
.
Type in a location using the keyboard.
8
For this demonstration, I will search for Carnaby Street
.
Once found, you will see that it is highlighted by a red pinpoint on your map.
9
At the bottom, it says Carnaby St., Soho, London, along with the postal code
.
10
To get more information, tap on the street name and drag it up from the bottom
.
This brings up an option to save the location, as well as some photos and a close-up map of the area.
11
To find Street View, simply tap on Street View just above the map on the left side
.
12
Now, you are on Carnaby Street
.
13
You can press the arrows on the screen to move around forward, back, and left or right
.
14
You can also press on the screen and drag around to change your point of view
.
15
Another thing about this option that is fun is when you press the icon with two arrows at the bottom right corner of your screen
.
16
Now, instead of using your finger to pan around, you can tilt and move the phone around to do this
.
Press the same icon again to exit this mode if you find it uncomfortable to use.
17
To exit Street view, tap on the screen once
.
The street name will appear at the top left of the screen with a left-facing arrow. Tap that to return to the street information screen.
18
Tap on the arrow at the top left again, and you are back at the map view
.
19
You're watching VisiHow, and I've just shown you how to go to Street view on Google Maps on the iPhone 6
