Access Skype Account Profile Settings on iPhone 6
Edited by Freya, JellyBean, Jen M
Hi. You're watching VisiHow, and today I'm going to show you how to access your account profile settings on the Skype application on the iPhone 6.
Steps
1
To begin, we can unlock our phone
.
Press the Lock button on the right-hand side of the handset, or the big round button at the bottom of the screen called the Home button.
2
Once the lock screen is up, simply swipe and enter a passcode
.
3
Alternatively, just hold your finger on the Home button, which doubles as a fingerprint scanner
.
4
This takes us to the Home screen, which will look a bit different from this one, because it's personalized
.
5
In this case, we need to find our Skype icon
.
The icon itself is light blue with a blue "S" inside a white bubble in the center.
6
Just tap that to open Skype
.
7
It may take us to the sign in screen, which is referred to in another video
.
It may also take us to a screen that lists all of the recent contacts.
8
What we need to do is go to the top right-hand corner, where we have our profile picture
.
9
Tap that to open up the new menu
.
10
What we should do now is go down to these few options, looking for "My account" with a little man on the left-hand side in blue
.
11
Press that to open up our account
.
12
This may take some time to load because they have quite a lot of things to offer
.
13
For now, tap to open the top option, "Profile", which is in blue
.
14
Once at the Profile details, we can go ahead and edit what we like
.
It automatically tells us how complete the Profile is. This one is only 70% because not every single box is filled in.
15
Just scroll down and tap here in the "About" section to enter your name
.
16
Tap here again on the second box
.
17
We can just simply delete accordingly
.
18
Next, we can type whatever surname we choose
.
19
Press "Done", in the blue here on the top right side of the gray window
.
20
Alternatively, we can press "Go", in the blue here
.
21
This shows our profile has been updated and it automatically saves
.
22
We can select "Gender" by tapping the drop down menu and scrolling
.
23
Select "Birthday" by scrolling
.
24
We can either press "Clear" on the right-hand side, or "Done"
.
Done will obviously save.
25
We can press "English" in order to choose a different language to talk in or for Skype to recognize
.
26
Since we only need English, we will choose that
.
27
28
We can tap here, in the "About me" section and just write a little bit about ourselves
.
29
Again, when you're happy, press "Done"
.
30
In "Location", we can press on the box and type the name of city
.
31
We'll just say Oxford by typing it in on the keypad
.
32
That's because it's an American piece of software, so it says "State" instead. We can type what we like, accordingly.
33
Choose the Country/Region, whichever one we like, in this scroll menu
.
34
We've selected "United Kingdom"
.
35
Enter an Email address, or change an Email address accordingly
.
36
There are additional options for adding another "Email address", "Mobile phone", "Home phone" or an "Office phone number"
.
We can just click any of these and start typing, as seen here.
37
Just tap the box for an item and it brings up the keypad
.
38
What we can do here in the "About" section when we scroll to the top of the screen is tap where it says "Public"
.
39
Scroll down to see what everyone else will see when "Location" is also "Public"
.
This is why these options aren't actually compulsory because they don't have to be filled in, if not wanted.
40
Whereas for "Contact" details, it says on the right-hand side, "Contacts only" with a little picture of the contacts book again
.
This way only our Contacts can see our Email address and phone numbers.
41
When satisfied with all of that, just go to the blue bar that says "Save changes"
.
It saves all of the changes made, if any.
42
When it's finished loading there is a green bar at the top saying our Profile has been updated
.
It will have a green tick or check on the left-hand side.
43
Just tap the blue arrow, here on the top left-hand side to go to the previous screen
.
44
On this screen, press the white arrow to get back to the Home screen
.
45
Thank you very much for watching
.
