Hello, and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how you can quickly activate the Camera application when an HTC One M8 is asleep.

   The first thing we need to do is make sure that the phone is asleep

   .

   We will know this if the screen is not turned on, or if the screen is on we can press down on the Power button. This button is located at the top, right-hand side of the device.

   Then we will need to place the phone down on a flat surface

   If we are holding the phone, simply hold it so it is parallel to the ground.

   Then the phone will need to be in the landscape position

   This means that the long side of the phone will be facing us.

   What we are going to want to do then, once the phone is in a flat and landscape position, is press down and hold on one of the Volume buttons

   Once the a Volume button is pressed, we are going to lift the phone up so the screen is facing towards us

   This is a similar position we would be in if we were trying to take a photo. This upwards movement is what will trigger the Camera application. This action, however, is very sensitive so it will not always work. We need to make sure the phone is not tilted, but it totally upright.

   We will now demonstrate this action, first by laying the phone flat and pressing down on one of the Volume buttons

   Now we will lift the phone up into an upright position, and the Camera will be activated

   This idea if very useful, as it allows us to quickly activate the Camera. So if we happen to see something interested we can quickly take a photo, without having to go to the trouble of unlocking the device and locating the Camera application. However, it may take a few trial and error attempts to get this action right since the phone is quite sensitive and the Camera will not always turn on.
