Why is the same date highlighted on every month of the calendar?

Today is the 18th. why is the 18th highlighted blue for every month.

You may have created an event and set it to recur every month. To fix this, tap the date in question and see if it opens up an event menu. Tap the edit button and tap the option to alter all events in the series. Tap on "Repetition" and then tap the sliding switch to off. You should see the other highlighted dates clear up.

I just noticed that too. Not sure of the answer, but here's an added twist: Today is the 29th, of August. Every month following has the 29th highlighted UNTIL I get to February, which obviously does not have a 29th (in 2015). So, the 28th is highlighted! Not only that, the 28th is now highlighted every month FOLLOWING February. Very strange, and very annoying.
