Which method of soothing the throat is the fastest, and what are foods to avoid?

I have been yelling a lot (for a sport, rowing) and want to know which is the fastest. I need to know this because I have a dress rehearsal for a huge theatrical production tomorrow and the real performance is this Wednesday. Thanks.

You may want to restrain yourself from even speaking (do it only when necessary) to relax the vocal cords and recuperate faster. Drink warm water with honey (1 tablespoon per cup) or grape juice; drink licorice tea every several hours. You can inhale steam if you want. The simplest method for that is heating a pan of water to a tolerable temperature of the steam and then breathing over it with a tower over your head so that it covers the pan too. If it is too hot, let it cool down. Avoid alcohol, coffee, cold food, milk tea, certain juice like citric juice, sunflower seeds, chocolate, soda, etc. You can read more advice on foods in our article on how to choose recommended food and drinks to soothe a singing voice.

How to relieve throat pain, the pain moves from the front of the neck to the back. How do I find relief?

I've been dealing with throat pain for more than 2 months. The pain moves from the front of the neck to the back of the throat near the esophagus and larynx. Had all the major tests to rule out all the bad stuff....but pain continues on. I will see a chiropractor to address issues relating to the spine. The doc also wants me to see a speech therapist, and an OT for TMJ. I'm frustrated with dealing with the pain. Any suggestions?
