First of all, it is easier to ask her to show the phone, as it is required to obtain the consent of a person to sniff his or her traffic. You can get a comprehensive tool, Wireshark, for your computer to analyze incoming and outgoing traffic. It is useful in capturing non-encrypted traffic (that excludes most instant messengers from sniffing: iMessages, WhatsApp, Viber, Telegram, Signal, Line, CyberDust, Kik, Facebook, Google, Snapchat, Twitter, Skype, etc.). It cannot capture SMS, MMS, or normal calls as they do not use the Internet. You can capture web sites visited and some insecure messages sent over the network.

You can also install Firesheep, a Firefox extension that intercepts connections. Open its panel and click "Start Capturing" to analyze sessions. You can click the person to use his or her session with his or her consent.

How can I get information on what is being looked at using our home WiFi?

I know that my husband is up to something, he usually doesn't come home and purchases extra data passes from T-Mobile, so not sure if it is worth it even to try to tap into our WiFi, but it might be. I have tried: Nothing, his phone is password locked. I think it was caused by: Him locking the phone, lying, and installing messaging apps
