Questions and Answers

What is the Marines name for Basic Combat Training (Army version)?

We are trying to figure out the correct term for the Marines' initial military training. It seems MCT is the same as AIT for the Army, but what about BCT/boot camp?

The United States Marine Corps calls their boot camp Recruit Training. This initial military training lasts for 12 weeks, during which the recruit goes through intense training to become a Marine. Each week is a different training procedure, and deals with either combat or the traditions that make a Marine a Marine. At the end of the 12 weeks, the recruits graduate and become Marines after the Emblem ceremony, where they are handed the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor.
