View Host Details on Airbnb with iPhone 6
Edited by Freya, Alexander Avdeev, Eng, Jen M
Hi! You are watching VisiHow. This tutorial will show us how to view information about a host on the Airbnb application on the iPhone 6.
To start, unlock the phone, which we can do by pressing the big round home button at the bottom of the phone.
Alternatively, we can press the lock button on the right-hand side of the handset.
We should swipe the lock screen right.
We can enter the passcode or put the finger onto the home button.
The home button may double as a fingerprint scanner, if it is enabled. This will bring up the home screen. In the video, everything is kept in different folders.
We should find the Airbnb application.
For this video, the "Travel" folder is tapped, which is where the Airbnb icon is hiding. The icon is a hot pink logo with an upside-down linear love heart.
We tap the Airbnb icon to open the application.
This automatically brings us to the default screen where the application is offering all of the popular locations, as we can see.
To search for a more obscure place, we can tap the magnifying glass icon at the bottom.
Search the VisiHow site for the tutorial on how to search for an obscure place by using the magnifying glass icon.
Let's tap New York for now.
The icon in the middle of the screen will show that the information is loading. The first listed apartment is quite expensive, but the look is good.
Let's tap the first listed option, for example.
The host information automatically includes such information as "Entire Home" and "Hosted by Erica". There is also the "Contact Host" button.
We tap the "Contact Host" button.
This will allow writing a message to the host and specifying the number of guests. The screen also has the information with the number of bedrooms, bathrooms, and beds. In our example, the apartment has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and four beds, which means that quite a lot of people can stay.
We tap "Write a message..." to write the message to the host.
As soon as the message is written, the red "Send" button at the bottom of the screen will light up.
We can press the "Send" button once it lights up to send the message to the host.
We tap the pink arrow located in the top left-hand corner of the screen to go out of the current screen.
We can scroll down to see more information on the property.
The information includes the utilities, the pictures, reviews, and the host. This tutorial has Erica as the host, so there is the "About Erica" area. It says that the host, Erica, has been a member since November 2014, and that she lives in New York.
If we are happy with everything, we can tap "Request to Book" to book the space.
We can also tap the "More About The Host" bar.
The bar is the second from the bottom. Tapping this bar will bring up the profile of the host. There will be the picture of the host, the response rate (at 100% in this example, which is very good), a small overview of about what the host is writing, and other listings of spaces available from the host. There is also the number of reviews.
We can tap "View All" to see all of the reviews for the space.
We may want to read and scroll through the reviews.
Then, we tap the cross to close the reviews.
After we examine the profile, we can tap the pink arrow in the top left-hand corner again to go to the main screen.
This main screen has the "Contact Host" button, which was mentioned in the previous steps, that will allow to contact the host and book the space.
If we do not like the space, we can tap the pink arrow in the top left-hand corner again.
This will bring up the search results.
