Using the Air View feature, you can preview the contents of your Galaxy Note 8, without opening your gallery or folders.

    To send an Easy Clip image, press and hold the S Pen button, just encircle the image that you want to send and then remove the S Pen from the screen.

Enhanced Handwriting

With the Enhanced Handwriting feature of the Galaxy Note 8, you can send notes with your own penmanship through email, and you can also take down notes or reminders on your S Planner application.

To send a note through email using Enhanced Handwriting:

    You have to open your email application, and then sign in.

    Choose the "Select" option, then put in the name of the recipient of your message and add a subject.

Tips:

  • Customize the pen's size and color by going to "Pen Settings".
  • Choose the desired size and color.
  • If you have made a mistake, make use of the "Eraser" option to delete the marks that you have made.
  • Once you are through, touch on "Save" to save your customized entry to your S Planner.

Photo Note

Another useful new feature on the Galaxy Note 8 is the Photo Note. This feature will allow you to put notes at the back of the photos just like the good old days. I remember my mother used to write notes at the back of every photo. And that really helps us to remember at what particular date, place and the event when the photo was taken. Using the S Pen, write handwritten notes at the back of the picture.

Tips:

  • A photo has a photo note, if you can see on the upper right corner that it is folded and it has an icon.
  • This feature will work on your photos found in the Gallery, but not on the photos stored in a cloud service like Picasa.

This feature lets the S Pen open frequently used applications or functions by using hand strokes that are customizable. There are command shortcuts too, that are pre-set, that we can actually make use of. Aside from creating new command shortcuts, we can even edit or change them.

This feature can help you to select or highlight text easily, then temporarily saves it on your clipboard to be pasted in your messages or emails, or in any other location.

How to transfer hand writing to text?

Here are the steps on how you can convert your handwriting from your Samsung Galaxy Note 8 or Note3 unit. Simply go to your phones handwriting application again then write what ever you want to convert to text using your S pen. Now, once you have composed what you want to convert it to text, you will see some sub menu on your device's screen. Tap the icon that looks like a UFO but it broken lines, that option is similar the paint program to select a specific part of the text and what not. Then, draw a square or encircle the part that you want to convert to text and make sure that you connect the first point and the end point of what you draw. You should be able to see there that the selected portion will become in square with diamonds, below it, there will be some sub options then tap the "Transform into" using the S pen then select the text and let the phone convert the selected handwriting to text. After the process that will take 2 to 3 seconds only, it will now be on text format.

I am trying to write on the back of photos but the directions on VisiHow does not match my new Galaxy Note4. Do you have a better directions? Will this work in pics in Gallery and in the Photos icon?

Once I open the pen settings in a pic from Gallery there is no place to tell it to write on the back. Also, in the icon Photos, I see no pen settings
