Use Unsharp Mask on Images in the GIMP App

Steps

    You should have the program open and an image ready to use

    First, click "Filters"

    Then, move the cursor to "Enhance"

    Click "Unsharp Mask..." from the menu that appears
    .
    A dialogue box will appear where you should be able to see a preview of your image.

    To navigate the preview either click and drag the preview or click the scrollbars in the dialogue box

    If you cannot see the preview, then check the "Preview" box

    Next, you can change the "Radius" value

    You can do it by using the scrollbar or by typing the radius you want.

    You can also change the "Amount" in the same way

    After that you can change the "Threshold" in the same way again

    This is good for creating abstract images if you make the change very dramatic.

    Click "Cancel" to cancel the changes

    Once you are satisfied, click "OK"

    The changes to the image will be applied.
