Hello and welcome to VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to use the 'TripAdvisor' application to find restaurants at your current location using the Microsoft Lumia 535.
To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the 'Power' button located on the right-hand side of the phone.
Once the phone is activated, we'll see the lock screen.
Swipe the lock screen up, and this will take us to the home screen.
On the home screen, we need to find the TripAdvisor tile.
It has a green background, and in the middle is the TripAdvisor logo. This is a hypnotic owl with very large eyes. If TripAdvisor has not been pinned to the home screen, swipe left to find it in the Apps menu.
Once TripAdvisor has been located, press down on it, and this will allow us to enter the application.
Once the application is loaded, we will need to swipe left or right until we find the 'near me' section.
It will say 'near me' in black lettering in the top left corner.
Swipe left until we arrive at the 'restaurants' section.
It says 'restaurants' at the bottom in white writing, in a green rectangle. It will show three restaurants that are near our location. We can tap on any of those three restaurants to see their information page. To see the list, press down on the green bar that says 'restaurants'.
Right now, the restaurants are sorted by distance.
In this example, the first restaurant is '0.05 Mi'. This the distance from our current location.
Each one of these restaurants has a rating, which are the circles.
For example, the second video has a 5/5 rating. It has 5 circles and they all have green circles inside. The first restaurant has 4/5, one circle is empty.
We can press the green magnifying glass in a circle to search this list.
The list size will depend on your location. Press down on that icon to search for the name, or if you want a pizza, just search 'pizza' to see all of the pizza stores.
To look at the restaurants on the map, tap on the globe icon in a green circle.
While using this feature, we can find restaurants in a neighborhood, or even on just one street. It's important to note that we must allow 'TripAdvisor' to access our current location on the first time opening the app.
Now we can see the results on the map.
We are in 'Tbilisi', but this map is not the best quality since 'Tbilisi' isn't a very popular location. When using these maps in a European city, they will be much better quality with more details and street names.
We can zoom in to see all of the different pins.
Every different pin represents a restaurant.
If we press down on a pin, we can see the details come up in the bottom.
This restaurant has 25 reviews and 4 1/2 circles. Tap on any pin to see the details. Tap on the details to see their page with all of the details and information about them.
We can also scroll through the results by tapping on the arrows in the bottom right and left corners.
To return to the list of restaurants, tap on the icon on the bottom, in the middle.
It's a green circle with a list inside of it.
If we see a restaurant we like on the map, tap on the details to see their page with all of the details and information about them.
This page has all of the restaurant details.
A picture, telephone number, an address, etc. If they are highlighted in green, we can press down on it to access it. For example, if we tap on the phone number, the Lumia 535 will try to call that number. It also shows a price range, which is '6-19 GPB' in this example. We can change the currency as well. To learn how to change the currency, refer to this article on VisiHow: http://visihow.com/Change_TripAdvisor_Currency_on_Microsoft_Lumia_535
If we swipe left, we also have the 'reviews' section.
Here, we can read the reviews written by individual customers. Tap on the icon in the bottom right to leave a review. It's a green speech bubble with a plus sign inside of a circle. This is the icon to add a review.
If we swipe left again, we can find the 'photos' section.
Tap on one photo then swipe left or right to go through all of the photos.
To go back, tap on the back arrow in the bottom left corner.
Tap on the white arrow again to go back to the map.
Tap on the back arrow again to go back to the list.
It took us back to 'hotels', but we can swipe back over to 'restaurants' if we want to.
This concludes the tutorial on how to use the TripAdvisor application to find restaurants in your current location when using a Microsoft Lumia 535.
