Before we narrow down the features of the Oppo Find 7, and how to use the phone's camera's super zoom, let us talk about the manufacturer first. Oppo Electronics Corporation is a manufacturer of electronic devices such as Blu-ray player, Mp3 players, E-books, Mobile phones and PMP (Portable Media Players). The company is based in China, specifically in Dongguan, Guangdong. The company was founded in 2004 and registered the Oppo brand in many countries.
Oppo participated in the mobile market as well. Currently, Oppo has Find 5 which is a Smartphone with 2GB RAM and 1.5GHz Quad-Core Processor. Also, Oppo announced their latest phone, the Oppo N1, which was released in December 2013. Oppo, also held the record for having the thinnest Smartphone in the word with 125 - 66 - 6.65 mm Dimensions. The phone model is called Finder and was released way back in 2007 July 1st.
Introducing Oppo Find 7a
The Oppo Find 7a has 5.5 inches in Gorilla Glass 3 that supports 1080p in full HD at 1920 x 1080 for resolution and 403 pixels. As per the Oppo, they designed the Find 7a to work flawlessly while you are using gloves or if your fingers are wet or there are small droplets of water on the screen. Although it was not specified, these gloves they are referring to are leather or latex, or ones specifically made to be used with touch phones.
When sunlight hits most phones, you cannot see anything on screen. The Oppo find 7a uses a high amount of brightness for you to see most of the screen contents.
Oppo also has a notification light called "Skyline Notification System" that looks great on your phone. This LED notification looks very pleasing and is easily seen whenever you receive text messages, emails or if you missed a call. You can also change the settings for this LED notification light to be on while you are charging the phone.
The Oppo 7a has a removable back cover and a battery of 2800 mAh. The back cover can be removed using a small access button or do the usual - use your fingernail to pop the back cover. The phone came with an internal storage of 32GB and a RAM of 3GB. Also, if the internal storage is not enough for you then you can simply insert your SD-Card and give the phone extra storage. The phone is capable of "128GB" for your external storage. You read it right; it can be expanded to hold 128 GB! The Oppo Find 7a is currently using an Android operating system of 4.3, which is the jellybean and not yet on Kit-Kat. In the future updates, it may have a firmware upgrade, sooner or later this year the phone might receive an update to its firmware.
Oppo Find 7a Camera
The Oppo Find 7a primary camera is at 13 MP with 4128 x 3096 pixels, autofocus and a dual-LED flash. The Primary camera of the phone supports 2160p at 30fps, 1080p at 60fps and 720p at 120fps in making a video. The phone also has a secondary camera like other phones. This is a 5 MP camera.
From the13 MP primary camera of the phone, you can also take a 50 MP image shot. Although HD has vibrant color, the Oppo Find 7a has the power to make it possible to take a 50 MP. These are burst shots (10 Burst shots) piled into one. Taking a 50 MP shot from a 13 MP camera may take 2 seconds as the phone will pile those images. Remember that it involves multiple shots and post-processing.
Take a 50MP Shot
Wondering how to take a 50 MP shot from a 13 MP camera? Follow the steps below to make it happen:
- 1Go to your list of applications and launch the "Camera" application.Advertisement
- 2Tap it to view the drop down menu, scroll down and look for the "HD Picture".On the main screen of the Camera, you will see an icon - a circle with three dots, located on the top right.Advertisement
- 3You need to tap it first for the phone to zoom in to that angle.Taking a picture on a specific angle on screen.
- 4Tap the "Capture" button to take the picture.
Please note that the image is not at regular 2Mb size since it is on 50 MP shot. The size of the image will be up to 13 MB. You will find an image comparison below from a normal picture, to HD and the 50 MP camera picture shot.
This is a 13 MP Normal shot coming from the Oppo Find 7a.
This is a 13 MP HD shot coming from the Oppo Find 7a.
This is a 50 MP Super zoom shot from the Oppo Find 7a.
Note: These images have been re-sized from the actual images. Although the 13 MP HD shot and the 50 MP may look the same, there is actually a huge difference. You'll notice this difference if you zoom in on the 50 MP image where you can see the strands of those flowers nor the skin lines if you are going to take a picture of your hand.
The Oppo Find 7a does not stop when it comes to cool features. Most of Smartphone owners are having problems charging their phones. Normally, a Smartphone will take a couple of your minutes just to get to 5% battery life on the phone. However, the Oppo Find 7a has a cool feature that is called "Rapid charge". This feature can charge your phone 4 times faster than regular charging rate.
Let's just say that your phone is totally dead and you cannot turn it on where you need to charge it. Also, you need to call someone as it is urgent that you need to inform them. What you need to do is to charge the Oppo Find 7a for 5 minutes, then boot up the phone and start calling those people with your urgent needs. The 5 minutes charging of the phone is equivalent to a 2 Hours phone call and a 30 minutes charge of the phone is an equivalent to 75% battery life charge which I find it convenient especially for business and urgent needs for calling someone.
