You're watching VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to enable the split-screen mode on the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge.
In order to enable the split-screen mode, we need to have our phone unlocked.
We should be on the home screen. Once the phone has been unlocked, we will need to open some applications.
We tap the back button to go back to the home screen.
We tap on the back button once more.
Once more, we tap the back button.
Now, all we need to do is tap the menu button.
It's on the lower-left side. We'll note that "Phone" has an "X" on the far-right side, which closes the Phone application. "Contacts" also has an "X". However, "Messages" has the icon with two boxes that indicates that this option will give us the split-screen mode. That is for what the two rectangles are.
Let's tap the rectangles next to "Messages".
Now that we've tapped them, we'll see that the Messages applications will be opened.
In the lower part of the screen, we can scroll over and open another application.
All of the other applications that are on the phone and that support the split-screen mode will be listed below. We can note that not every application on our phone will support the split-screen mode.
We swipe left to the main screen.
We'll see "No recently used apps." This indicates that in this video, no other applications that support the split-screen mode have been used. As we have seen earlier, the Phone and Contacts applications do not support the split-screen mode.
Let's tap on Gallery.
We'll have a screen with two Windows split up.
We tap on a picture in Gallery.
It will be shown at the bottom.
We tap on a message in Messages.
It will be shown on the top.
We tap on the middle circle to modify or close one of the Windows.
We tap on the "X" to close the Messages window.
Messages will be closed, and Gallery will be shown.
We press the home button.
We'll be taken back to the home screen.
We tap the menu button.
We will be given the option to open some applications in the split-screen mode.
We tap the rectangle icon next to "Messages".
We tap on Gallery.
Gallery will also be opened.
When we have finished, we can press the home button.
We'll go back to the home screen.
We can choose to open something normally.
For example, we can tap on Messages. The application will be opened in the full-screen mode. The only time we can enable the split-screen function is when we tap the menu button. Then, we can choose to open applications with the split-screen option.
Then, we can press the home button.
This concludes our tutorial on how to use the split-screen mode on the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. Thanks for watching VisiHow! Give us your questions, comments, or suggestions in the area below. Have a great day!
