Use Samsung Galaxy S5 Phone Options
Edited by Grimm, Margiebell, Eng
Hi you are watching VisiHow and today we are going to show you how to access the phone options on you Samsung Galaxy S5 or your Samsung Galaxy S5 mini.
The phone button is the one right here.
A green phone icon.
You may have changed it if you've added to or updated your system, your settings, or your screen. Lets check under apps.
And you can also find the phone icon, so again there's two ways to get to it, your phone on the main screen there, or by tapping the apps button.
Since we have the phone on the main screen, we're going to just go ahead and tap that there.
Tap on phone one time.
That's going to open up the phone, now you have got a series of options here; I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Duos which means I have two SIM cards. Here is the keypad, here are all of our numbers, and the number one is a shortcut to your voice mail.
You can press and hold zero, that will give you a plus sign.
As you see, there's a backspace, you can also do 00.
00 instead of the plus for most places.
Generally speaking though, that is unnecessary. Here is your asterisk key, here is your pound key. This is also a shortcut key for our volume options when you have that set.
Up here is our log.
Call logs, red indicates outgoing calls, there's a little phone icon, there's a red outgoing call to Kara. Here's a red outgoing message, there's a green incoming message, red outgoing message, red outgoing call, and a green incoming call. Those are how your call logs work.
I can choose to tap here on all logs.
I can see all logs, all calls SIM 1, SIM 2, missed calls, deleted calls, received calls, and all messages, or sent messages, also received messages.
This is great because it quickly allows you to cycle through your call list.
If you want to delete this stuff you just tap over here on this.
And you can select individually, or you can delete, and you can search for a particular call, you can see the call duration, and you can tap on the settings.
Here is our contact settings.
Nothing special, nothing spectacular there.
If you want to get call information, here is the call information.
Call information that you can access for your phone, whether you are rejecting calls, how you answer, and then any call-related pop-ups, call alerts, call accessories, lets pop on call alerts to show you.
So, here is vibrate when answered, call connect tone, and minute minder lets you know how long you are talking.
This is actually helpful if you are on one of those plans where you have limited minutes. I'm not though, so I don't use that. Let's go back.
Ringtones and keypad tones, personalize call sound, and you can also have video.
You can hide video, you can get your voice mail set up, you have accounts, and you have internet calling as well.
Here's the voice mail option.
So you can use voice mail settings from your carrier, we are not going to go in to that right now.
That would be for another tutorial. This is just to give you a quick overview of the call, and what you can do quickly and easily with your call settings.
Here's a list of favorites, you can add a favorite, these are my recent contacts, but if I wanted to make a favorite, my favorite, for example is Mr.
I can set him as a favorite.
I'm not going to do that though. There is also contacts. You can see your list of people, your calls, who is in there, and you can choose the settings you are going to have for people. You can also add contacts, here you can set up a group.
I can put people in here, I have Ice-emergency contacts, co-workers, family, friends.
I can create my own group, it doesn't matter. As you can see I already have some people under VisiHow, some people under my contacts.
I can also add a new contact.
Save contact to Device, SIM 1 SIM 2, Samsung Account, Google Account, or I can add a new contact, I am not interested in adding any new people at the moment.
When I want to make a video call to someone, I just tap on the icon here for a video call.
If I want to make an SMS I just tap here.
If I want to press phone call, I can make a phone call.
Again, the green phone with the picture is video call, the yellow envelope is SMS, and just the green phone icon is a message, and also I can send e-mail.
So I tap that its asking me how I want to open my mail, I'm just going to tap back to get out of there.
So this is how you set up and use your contacts, your phone lists, and the Samsung Galaxy S5 or the Samsung S5 mini.
Thank-you for choosing VisiHow, and have a great day and we look forward to seeing you in our next set of videos.
