You're watching VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show the new application that comes with iOS 9, which is the News application.
We tap the News application to launch it
We'll see that the default page is a curated section of news that is "For You".
We tap a story to look at it and get some information
We can tap the heart icon
This will provide us with more stories like the one with the heart icon.
The other option we have within this actual News menu is to tap the bookmark icon
The icon is at the bottom-right. This will save the story for later if we want to read it later.
The last option in the bottom left-hand corner is the share option
We can share the news with any number of applications, including social media. We can choose "Copy", "Open in Safari", or other options.
If we want to get to the next story, we simply swipe to the left
We can go back to the main menu by tapping the top-left arrow
We'll go to "Favorites". These are the publications on which we've chosen to receive newsfeeds.
We can, for example, take out "FOOTBALL" and "CNN".
We can, for example, add "CNN" back in by tapping the plus item.
We scroll down to "BROWSE TOPICS" to see certain topics
If we want a specific topic like "Football", we can tap "Search"
We enter the "Football" search term in the search box
News will show us the football topics.
We can add "Football" back by tapping the plus icon
Lastly, we tap the "Saved" menu at the bottom-right
We have to remember how we saved a story in Step 4. Any stories that had the bookmark save feature tapped will show up in this menu. They can be left for reading later. If we see them in our news feed, we don't have to worry about them getting shoved to the bottom. We can read it later.
This was the News application for iOS 9 Beta only. If you have any questions or comments, please leave them in the space below. Thank you for watching VisiHow!
