Use Garlic to Treat Worm Infestation and Intestinal Disorders
Edited by Mian Sheilette Ong, Eng, Lynn, cec and 18 others
Issues of the digestive system are crucial, and should be dealt with quickly, carefully and appropriately. If the digestive system isn't working properly, your body won't be able to go about its everyday activities. Your body should be like a well-oiled machine. To maintain a regular supply of fuel, your digestive system has to be in tip-top shape. Common problems in the digestive tract are constipation, diarrhea, ulcers, reflux disease, and parasitic infestations. All of these conditions result in pain, discomfort, and inflammation. If the digestive disorders and infestations are not taken care of, you will suffer from deficiencies and may impede the rest of your organs causing them to gradually shut down because the necessary nutrients are not being properly assimilated. You should see your doctor if it is something you cannot control. There are many medicines for digestive problems and infestations available at your drugstore, however, many people still prefer to use the simple, yet effective remedies that are natural, such as everyday garlic.

All about worm Infestations
As repulsive as it is, there is no escaping intestinal parasites. These minute organisms have learned to adapt and evolve with man even as his environment, lifestyle, and diet have changed. Incredible as it seems, these parasites manage to make their way into the human digestive system so they can continue their own life cycle, and propagate their species. Intestinal worms are more common in the tropics, and subtropical areas. They usually become more prevalent during the rainy season. More often it's children who fall victim to intestinal worms because they have a tendency to put anything in their mouths without washing their hands first. These unhygienic practices, lead to parasites that are single-celled to complex multi-cellular organisms such as intestinal worms. It is said that about 75 percent of the world's population is infested by worms and other parasites. When untreated, these infestations can result in serious illnesses and even death, especially in developing countries.
The eggs of intestinal parasites usually enter the human body by means of water and contaminated food. Undercooked meat is also a major cause of parasitic infestations. Microscopic parasites are not only a result of poor hygienic practices, but can be caused by consuming raw fruits or vegetables that have not been washed properly, and by handling contaminated soil. Parasites are very fond of staying in your body if you eat unhealthy and sugary foods.
It's very common for people to be oblivious and completely unaware they are infested. It will help curb the infestation of intestinal worms if you have your beloved pets de-wormed regularly. Parasitic worms should be prevented from invading your household and your body. To know if you have intestinal worms, it is best to see your doctor for proper tests and diagnose. There are de-worming medications available, but many people prefer all-natural, organic solutions for their worm infestations. One of these potent natural remedies is garlic.
All about Digestive Problems
Digestive problems can be brought about by so many different factors that include stress, poor diet, medicinal side effects, underlying medical conditions, and changes in diet. If you suffer from digestive problems such as diarrhea, constipation, reflux, indigestion, or ulcers, you may be doing some things to exasperate your conditions, and there are certainly things you can do to improve it. If you suffer from digestive problems and your discomfort is already affecting the way you function day to day, you need to see your doctor. Usually, if you have these symptoms, there is an imbalance in your body. Your digestive tract's colonic system may be lacking in good bacteria, allowing the bad bacteria to take over your digestive process. If you suffer from pathogenic takeover, your gastrointestinal tract will no longer be able to breakdown and assimilate the necessary nutrients that your entire body needs to function optimally.
Issues in digestion can result in inflammation and pain. Viruses and bacteria may have entered your body and established themselves in your digestive tract. If after you've noticed the symptoms, it may become worse and worse to a point where it debilitates you. Your doctor may prescribe medications for you that will target the pain, inflammation, and infections. However, side effects are always an issue when you take these artificially produced medications. That is why natural remedies such as garlic are much more preferred.
Garlic's Ability to Treat Worm Infestations and Digestive Issues
Garlic's uses extend far beyond dipping sauces, Italian food, and Caesar salad. Garlic has been used as a natural remedy since the beginning of recorded history. Still today, it is used in alternative medicines as a natural, organic solution to many diseases and medical conditions. When people complain about digestive problems, it's either because they have acquired infections or have become hosts to various parasites. These digestive problems may be treated with garlic because of its antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and anti-parasitic properties.
Garlic is able to target colitis, diarrhea, dysentery, and parasitic infestations. Even with its potent effects, it does not negatively affect the good bacteria and flora in the digestive system. Garlic only affects the bad organisms so the gastrointestinal tract can be rebalanced and return you to good health. To maintain good digestive health, include garlic in your daily diet. Garlic stabilizes the intestinal system resulting in proper digestion. Even small traces of inflammation or irritation in your digestive tract can be corrected if you use garlic as a natural treatment.
What garlic contains
Garlic's potency depends on its actual form when you consume it. If you have a garlic clove that is just peeled but still intact and raw, the alliin (amino acid derivative) in it is still there. The moment you chop, crush, or mince the garlic, alliin joins alliinase to form allicin, which gives the herb its healing properties, flavor, and aroma. When you ingest garlic, it enters your stomach and its compounds begin to dissolve. It then moves to the small intestine where it will be broken down further. Absorption takes place in the small intestine. The cells of your body assimilate the compounds of garlic through your bloodstream. Then, the healing begins. Fresh garlic may be pungent, but it can help your digestive issues. You just have to be careful when you ingest raw garlic. If you are unsure about eating it raw, slightly cooking it could help, however, its healing components will be reduced by the heat. If you are ready to ingest garlic raw, do so little by little. Eating garlic in large amounts at once will cause your stomach to become upset, you'll feel a burning sensation and the production of gas (interaction with the intestinal bacteria). You can enjoy the flavor and the health benefits of garlic by chopping raw cloves and then adding them at the last few minutes of cooking so you will still receive the healing benefits of the herb. You could also opt for garlic powder but take note of the manufacturer because the compounds you want may have been degraded during the drying and macerating process. You could also take garlic tablets or capsules. These preparations have enteric coatings, so stomach upset may be reduced.

Questions and Answers
I'm itching in most parts of the body including sometimes the face but mostly around the anus?
Parts of the body, sometimes including the face, but mostly around the anus A common diagnosis for an itch in several locations on the body is dermatological and not parasitic. The itch can be a rash or something like Psoriasis. To treat a rash you can make a poultice of ground oatmeal and turmeric combined with carrier oils like olive, almond or coconut oil. To treat a fungal skin infection like yeast infections, you may use the garlic as a topical remedy by rubbing a crushed clove over the area that itches and you can also make a poultice of pureed garlic and coconut oil to rub into the area that itches.
If I take garlic in soft-gel, is it as effective as natural garlic?
Would rather have garlic in capsule or soft-gel
Unfortunately, garlic is not as effective as a worm and parasite killer or as an antibacterial and anti-viral substance if it is taken in pill form. That is because the substance that actually kills parasites and worms is allicin. Allicin is not produced chemically until the garlic is actually sliced. This is a chemical process that takes place when an enzyme in garlic, called allicin meets with the oxygen in the air. The more you chop up your garlic, the more bioavailable the allicin is to you.
Dried garlic, garlic powder, aged garlic extract, distilled garlic oil and garlic in oil supplements do not contain the allicin necessary to fight parasites and infection. Only allicin powder extract, which is extracted from chopped garlic, contains this healing constituent. The most effective way to receive the benefits of garlic is to eat it chopped up fresh. If the taste is too strong, mix it into guacamole, bruschetta or salad dressings.
Can I use garlic cooking powder around the rectal area with Vaseline at night?
Or is that not strong enough? Have you heard of Diatomaceous earth to kill pinworms. I have tried: Nothing. I think it was caused by: Childcare facility
Raw garlic would be best for the treatment of pinworms however if your garlic powder is fresh it may be strong enough. Diatomaceous earth must be food grade if you plan on using it for pinworm treatment. Take 3 tablespoons twice a day until the worms are eradicated.
I started drinking garlic milk yesterday morning before breakfast and I did the same today. How long should I wait before taking breakfast, that is after drinking the garlic milk?
I started drinking garlic milk yesterday morning before breakfast and I did the same today. How long should I wait before taking breakfast, that is after drinking the garlic milk.
You want to wait at least one hour after you drink the garlic milk before you eat a meal for maximum absorption.
I have very serious candida thrush in my mouth throat and in my guts from 2010 till date. I have done everything to cure this but to no avail?
I drank brewers yeast for hair growth but it turned against my system since 2010 and it created a serious candida in my guts and especially mouth. Please, what do I do? I have drank DIFLUCAN but no improvement at all till date.
Begin eating a clove of garlic several times a day. Swish coconut oil in your mouth for at least 15 minutes three times a day. If you have a vaginal yeast infection the best natural remedy is to soak a tampon in coconut oil and insert a new tampon every 4 hours. Make sure that the tampon has absorbed as much of the oil as it can and depending on room temperature you may have to warm up the oil to make it liquid for best absorption. You can do this to several tampons all at once and then store them in the fridge to keep the coconut oil solid. You also can use this cold method on the go by keeping the tampons in an insulated bag with and ice pack. Make sure if you do this to bag or wrap each tampon individually in case there is a mishap. Read more about Coconut Oil for treating yeast infections here.
Candida occurs when the yeast production within your body explode. Antibiotics strip the intestinal tract of all bacteria " good and bad, specifically, the flora that controls the production of yeast. If you have Candida, which is exactly what would come from not having enough of that flora in your intestines, you need to replace it. Causes of Candida include taking antibiotics, pregnancy, being on the birth control pill, weakened immune system, etc. A few things you can do to regain the balance in your intestinal tract are as follows:
- Starve the Candida. Avoid sugary foods as they encourage fungal growth. This included sugar, lactose, malt, and fructose. Avoid fruits initially. Eat whole grain bread if you must, but it's much better to avoid bread for a while. Avoid fermented products like alcohol, vinegars, and soya sauce. Avoid foods with mould like cheese and mushrooms. Also, avoid tea and coffee and other stimulants. This takes a lot of will power, as it will be natural for you to crave the very foods you shouldn't be consuming.
- Any food or drink containing probiotics will be very helpful in reducing the level of yeast in your system.
- VERY IMPORTANT " Lactobacillus Acidophilus is a species of probiotic bacteria that when ingested, creates toxic byproducts such as hydrogen peroxide and lactic acid. When these come in contact with food in your stomach, they kill the candida yeast. As your case sounds severe, you can find acidophilus in the refrigerator at the health food store. It will replace the flora quicker than the yogurt, but it's essentially the same thing.
- Eat a lot of yogurts. It also contains L. Acidophilus. Eating yogurt with live, active cultures does the same thing as the tablet, capsule or liquid Acidophilus - but not as quickly.
- East lots of coconut products. Especially for Thrush " candida in the mouth, coconut is a natural anti-fungal.

I eat much garlic and for like two days and I develop pain inside my belly. Can I still continue eating sir. I have tried: I have not try anything, but I was thinking it has to do with worm problem because whenever I eat I fill the pain. I think it was caused by: I don't know and that is why I am asking you for an answer
Garlic can irritate the stomach for some people. Drink milk when you consume the garlic to help coat your stomach or eat food and within one hour, ingest the garlic. Alternately you can mix the garlic in honey, which has been used for centuries to ease stomach ailments.
My eight-year-old boy seems to have intestinal worms. Which is the best way to treat a child with intestinal worms? Thanks?
My eight-year-old boy seems to have intestinal worms as his back seems to be itching him very often. He has been trying to relief that by scratching his back, which we have been trying to stop him from. Since we try to keep our children away from medication (if we can), I was wondering in what way can we give him garlic to hopefully get rid of the worm? Thanks
Absolutely you can use the information on riding worms with garlic posted above. For your child's itching, apply a Basil, Coconut Oil, and Aloe Vera lotion. To make the lotion you will need to puree in a food processor 2 cups of coconut oil and 2 cups of Aloe Vera gel with a standard bunch of basil leaves. Store in the fridge for up to 30 days. The basil has an analgesic property which when combined with the Aloe Vera and coconut oil, will soothe and moisturize the itchy skin.
Can garlic be used to get rid of parasites as well?
I recently developed a nickel allergy and have had three bouts of antibiotics and hydro cortisol injections over a period of around two years. From my personal studies, I have discovered that these debilitate the immune system and can cause the development of worms and parasites. I am not in pain, but I do feel gurgling sometimes in the abdomen, so, as around 32% of Americans have worms or parasites and are unaware they do, I thought that I had better do a cleanse in case I am a victim of such an invasion. I have tried: I am investigating right now, but I did read that Black Seed Oil can assist in this process. I think it was caused by: As I explained before, the need to take three hydro cortisol injections and antibiotics put a strain on the immune system and cause it to work at half mast which makes the body vulnerable to worms and parasites we well as certain disease.
Yes, garlic can be used for parasite removal. Garlic is also used as an immunity booster, which will help your body defend against future illness if ingested daily.

I've read somewhere that for tapeworms 3 cloves of garlic on an empty stomach, followed 2 hours later by 2 teaspoons of castor oil would help considerably? Your thoughts?
I have tapeworms. I've given my doctor a stool sample and I'm currently awaiting the results. I would also like to follow a natural path to better health instead of taking PILLS. I'm also considering 1 Zinc tablet and 1 Vitamin C tablet with food.....A short-term supplement of Black Walnut & Wormwood Extract. I've also heard that Coconut oil is beneficial for clearing parasites on the skin? Maybe bathing in it?
Everything you have mentioned is good for removing parasites. Bathing in Coconut oil will not be as effective as consuming it several times daily. Black Walnut and Wormwood have been used as an herbal remedy for parasites for several hundreds of years. They work best when combined with time sitting under an infrared sauna heat lamp.
I have a pinworm or some sort of worm infestation. Can I fast on water and garlic?
I am living with about 50 people in a transitional living situation and I've had a very sensitive immune system since I was born. I contract parasites very easily and I haven't been eating what I normally eat. I know I have pinworms because I have had dreams of the worms and I have the upper stomach ache, I am chronically hungry, and I want to eat fatty foods and sweets all the time. I am on a very tight budget and I don't have time to be ill. Can I just eat garlic and drink water to get rid of these worms?
If you have access to making a bone broth, it would help in your fasting to remove the parasites. Be careful to not go longer than two weeks of fasting without the approval of a medical physician. You will also want to make sure that you are not going to get dehydrated. Too much garlic like too much of anything can cause diarrhea. If this occurs, you will want to supplement your diet and increase your water consumption. If you make a bone broth, you will get nutritional benefits during the fasting which will aid your immune system.
I think I have roundworms. Will the garlic that is prepackaged in the jars work as well as the fresh stuff?
I am currently taking Albenza to get rid of them. Will the whole garlic in the jars work just as good or at least comparable to the fresh? Also, what can I eat to make my bowels move so I can actually get these gone without making them worse? I've been eating oatmeal and staying away from most sugar. I'm slightly constipated. I have tried: Albenza. I just tried raw garlic tonight. I think it was caused by: Unsure
Oatmeal is still a carbohydrate which when processed by our bodies turns into a sugar substance. The pre-packaged garlic is often pickled and loses it's potency during that process. Fresh garlic has the most substance. If you want to move your bowel naturally, Castor Oil and licorice root both have a natural laxative effect.
To your knowledge, in extreme cases of roundworm (ascaris lumbricoides), has it been found in other areas of the body (CNS, neck or spine)?
3 weeks ago, presented with itching, rash, hives that erupted into open wounds, <Mostly on arms<, isolated spots of extreme pain (felt like a tear or burrow into the skin). During baths, finding dozens of tiny white dots (egg-like) only just large enough to see with the naked eye, but not in any detail. Also many more black dots, slightly larger the white egg objects, by the hundreds. Have found many just under the top layer of skin. A moving, crawling feeling can be felt constantly. An increased pressure in my gums and teeth with cavities are felt. Started feeling odd moving debris in the mouth. One such was put into rubbing alcohol and left for several days. Exam of debris was very clearly a very thin, white/translucent worm. Approx 3.5 inches long, smooth body with a short, thicker segment near one end (Not on the end, it is located 1/4 of its body length inward).. . Extend information- Has suffered from fatigue for 6+ years, including migraines, muscle and joint weakness and inability to gain weight above 130lbs. Up to this point in time, these symptoms have been attributed to a ruptured disc in the lower spine (L5-S1). . . I have heard the saying "parasites attract parasites" many times and I suspect that is my case. The roundworm infestation attracted another parasite. After 4 doctors and an E.R. trip, only one doctor gave me the time of day. His diagnosis was scabies and unknown worm parasite and prescribed 5% permethrin cream in two application and Metronidazole 500 mg ( 2 a day for 7 days). The permethrin made a huge improvement, but has made a 70% reduction in my skin related issues. . . I've started a garlic treatment to help my situation. Last night I ate a whole garlic bulb but baked in olive oil at 400F. So its effectiveness from being cooked is limited from what I've read? I have a migraine today and a lot of pressure around my neck/spine area. Sorry that this is a cluster info with not a lot of specific questions, but any thoughts or insight you can share is greatly valued. Thank you for your time. Trevor in Olympia WA. I have tried: permethrin 5% cream, 2 treatments Metronidazole 500mg 2x daily for 7 days, starting garlic. I think it was caused by: I work in the construction field, so I'm in attics, under houses, in other people's homes, and hospitals so my exposure risk is quite high.
Scabies will present on the skin as you have described. The creams you are using will help in removing these however you will also have to fumigate your home to prevent re-infestation. The means that you should boil all of your bedding and steam your fabric furniture such as your couch.
You are correct in realizing that baking the garlic removes the potency. One thing you should consider is getting an organic cold pressed Coconut Oil product. Consume 2 to 3 tablespoons a day. You can add this to your coffee or eat it right off the spoon. You should also look into eating an Alkaline diet. When our bodies are alkaline it makes an inhabitable hosting space for parasites to thrive.

How to treat? After taking ceftriaxone for 40 days and the problems seem to resist?. I have tried: Used all of the used symptoms for pinworms including the the 9.00 three treatments before taking the know now the blood treatments. I think it was caused by: ?
Seek the advice of a medical professional and request another medication. If you did not clean your living environment properly, you are in a cycle of re-infestation and this is why you have not removed the pinworms. They have a 2-week life cycle from the egg to larvae and most treatments are followed up after two weeks with a new round of medication.
