Steps

    To create an automatic grading system, we click "Add-ons" in a Google Document spreadsheet for the responses

    We are going to search for a program called Flubaroo
    .
    It is a free program. If it is not on the screen, we can search for it by typing "flubaroo".

    We click the add button

    The program will ask for some permissions.

    We can click "Allow" to allow the requested permissions

    Flubaroo will state: "Once you've collected student submissions in this sheet, choose 'Grade Assignment' from the Flubaroo menu to grade them. Want to try out Flubaroo with some sample submissions? Copy/paste submissions into your sheet from here: http://goo.gl/yovKle".

    We click "x" on the quick tip

    The first two options for the name and email address are used to identify the student.

    We can change the grading options by clicking them

    The choices are "Identifies Student", "Skip Grading", "Normal Grading", and "Grade by Hand (New!)". In this video, normal grading will be for multiple-choice questions. We'll want to change the essay questions to grade by hand because these questions will differ based on the student responses.

    Lastly, if we click on a number, then we can assign a number of points given to a particular question

    In this video, we choose the first response that was submitted to use as the Answer Key

    A new worksheet called "Grades" will be created.

    In this tutorial, Flubaroo will show us that responses matching the Answer Key are at 66.67% for Mike and Suzie. Bob did not get either of the two questions right.

    Once the quiz has been completed, we can click "Add-ons" and then "Email Grades" in "Flubaroo"

    This will send email messages with the grades to the students.
