You are watching VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to use the 'Find My Friends' application on the iPhone 6 to find your friends.
To get started, press the 'Home' button at the bottom of the phone.
Alternatively, press the 'Lock' button on the right-hand side.
Swipe across the screen to enter your passcode.
Alternatively, press your finger onto the home button, which doubles as a fingerprint scanner, if the option is enabled. This will bring us to the home screen.
Tap on the 'Find Friends' icon which is an orange icon with two people.
This will take us into the 'Find My Friends' application.
We can see where our friend is by looking for the circle with initials inside of it.
We currently have one friend set up, as well as myself. The contact is within one kilometre of us.
To get more detail, tap on the map and pinch to zoom out, or push your fingers out to zoom in.
Tap on the 'Location' icon in the bottom left-hand corner to see your current location.
To get more details, press the lowercase 'I' in the bottom right-hand corner of the phone.
When the 'I' is tapped, we can switch the map from 'Standard' to 'Hybrid' or 'Satellite'.
We will be using the 'Standard' map.
From here, we can also tap the arrow in the top left corner, which takes us back to the list.
Now we can see that the contact was located 30 seconds ago.
We are going to tap on the name.
Now we are going to tap on her initials to see other information.
We can see the phone number, email address, we can send a message, or share the contact with someone else.
For each of these options, we can tap on the call, message, email, or 'FaceTime' icons.
Tapping 'Edit' will allow us to edit the contact and tapping 'Back' will allow us to go back.
To see more options, tap on 'More'.
Here we can label where the contact currently is, as well as set the phone to notify us by tapping 'Notify Me', or notify the contact whenever something happens by tapping 'Notify Kara', which, for you, will say your contacts name.
For example, we can set it to notify us when the contact 'Leaves' this location or when the contact 'Arrives' at this location.
We are going to tap 'Cancel' to go back.
We can set it to send our location 'Right now', 'When I leave', or 'When I arrive'.
We are going to tap 'Cancel' to go back. This lets the contact see when we're coming or going somewhere.
If we tap the contacts name at the top, it will locate them again to update her location.
We are going to tap 'Done' in the top right corner to take us back to the main area.
We are going to press the arrow in the top left-hand corner to go back.
If we had more friends, they would be listed below the first contact.
This concludes the tutorial on how to use the 'Find My Friends' application on the iPhone 6 to find your friends.
