Hello and welcome to VisiHow. We are continuing a series of Facebook videos. In this one, you will be shown how to update your relationship status in Facebook on the iPhone 6.
Start by unlocking the phone.
The fingerprint scanner is used here, to make it fast and easy. Otherwise, a passcode can be entered to unlock the phone.
Find the Facebook application icon.
It's a blue square with a white lowercase "f" inside. Give it a tap to open the application. It has taken us to the news feed.
To change the relationship status, we need to go to the settings.
On the bottom menu bar, tap on the far right icon that says "More".
The icon has three horizontal lines.
This will take us to the main menu.
Next, we need to tap on the first option under the profile name called, "Update Info".
On the next screen, tap on the bottom bar that reads, "View Profile".
This will take us to the main profile information.
Scroll down to the "Relationship" section.
In this section, we can change or update our relationship status. To do this, tap on "+ Add a relationship status".
We can also update the relationship status by tapping on "Edit".
Both options will open the same section.
The "Relationship" menu will ask, "What is your relationship status?"
Tap on the question to bring up a scrolling option at the bottom of the page.
The scrolling options are "Single", "In a relationship", "Engaged", "Married", and several others.
Scroll to find the preferred relationship status. For this example, we will choose "Engaged".
Tap on "Done" to close the scrolling options.
We'll tap on "Save" to save the information.
However, before saving the information, it must be set up as public.
Tap on the globe icon on the bottom left-hand side of "Relationship" menu to open a pop-up menu.
The information can be made "Public", only for "Friends", or just for yourself.
In this example, we'll pick "Friends".
Now, tap on "Save" to keep the update and make it available to your friends.
A message appears stating we "Got Engaged Today".
We can change our status again by tapping on the small gray arrow at the top right-hand corner of the profile section.
Let's delete the post by tapping on "Delete post" at the top.
A confirmation message will appear where we will tap on "Delete".
It may take a second or two to update the status again.
This will open the profile menu, where we can tap on "Update Info" again.
Then scroll down to "Relationship".
Tap on "Edit" to make changes.
Tap on where it says "Engaged".
This will bring up the scrolling options again at the bottom of the page.
Now, let's change it to "Married".
Tap "Done" to close the scrolling pop-up menu.
Tap "Save" to save the status.
The message now says, "Got Married Today".
To change the date you got married, go back to the profile page by pressing the white arrow in the top left-hand corner.
Tap on "Edit" again in the "Relationship" section.
On the next screen, tap on "Anniversary:
A scrolling menu pops up at the bottom of the page.
Choose the year, which for this demonstration is 2010.
Press "Done" to close the yearly scrolling menu.
Now, tap on "Month" in the "Anniversary" line to scroll through the months at the bottom of the screen.
In this case, we will choose "February".
We don't have to put the exact date, but we can go ahead and do that by tapping on "Day" in the "Anniversary" line.
Then scroll through the numbers at the bottom of the page.
We will choose 6 for this example.
Tap "Done" to close the scrolling menu.
Tap on "Save" to save the updated relationship status.
Let's see how the status looks by tapping on the "More" icon with three horizontal lines at the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.
Tap on your name to access the profile.
Now press "About", which is the first square, to see the relationship status.
At the top portion of the screen, we can see, that the relationship status has been updated to "Married since February 6, 2010." To change the relationship status or remove it, follow the step above.
