The unknown error 9006 keeps coming up on my iPhone 5. How can I fix this?

I connected the phone to iTunes and the error came up on our iPhone 5. I connected it to our PC to iTunes, hit restore, tried this 5 times & unknown error 9006 keeps coming up. The iPhone is stuck as well. I have WiFi. I don't know how to fix it and I don't think this phone has ever been connected to the PC so it doesn't identify it.

Error 9006 happens when iTunes is unable to connect to Apple's servers to download your phone's iOS update. It often occurs as the result of a security application (like antivirus or a security updater) blocking iTunes' internet access, but it can also be the result of mis-configured internet settings in your router, modem, or from your internet service provider.

The first thing you should do is to disable your security software. When you do this, do not open your browser or email applications, since you may inadvertently download a malicious file while your security software is down and your computer may become infected with whatever the file has attached to it. Instead, simply open iTunes, plug in your iPhone 5, and try to update your phone again. If you don't see the error again, your phone should now update.

If you do see the error again, restart your phone, computer, router, and modem to make sure that nothing is buggy and that could be preventing your connection to Apple's servers. Once everything's turned back on, plug your iPhone back into your computer and try again. If you're still having issues, you will need to contact Apple's customer support service (known as AppleCare) to speak to a customer service representative who can further troubleshoot the issue with you.
