If you are having trouble backing up your Android device, the program discussed in this guide may be of assistance to you. Please be sure to read the requirements before using it.

Things Universal Sync can do for supported Android Mobile Devices:

  • Explore mobile files, copy, delete, and move…etc.
  • Organize and Sync contacts, convey between devices, delete, modify, backup and restore. You can Sync directly to Microsoft Outlook.
  • Monitor and Archive and save SMS.
  • Transfer Contacts between an old mobile to a new one.

This program is quite popular on the Sony Ericsson mode Android phones, as well as many others.

Go through how to Sync and copy and backup your contacts using this program, for it is the most important task you might need

  1. 1
Click on Menu bar button "File", then select "Settings".
You will get the "Settings" window. As you can see, the default connection that we choose earlier, is set (marked in Red). You can freely change the connection type anytime from here. For example, if your mobile is connected via a USB cable, just switch to it in here. Now you need to set the "Sync" options. Click on it, and there as in the photo, you can Click the list next to "Contacts" and select "Outlook 2010" (marked in Red). Now, click on the Advanced Button next to those.

A window for "settings for Outlook" will appear, and you can select the Outlook folder with which you need to sync.
Also you can set the default "Sync mode". "Sync Both" is the best choice if you are not sure, where you can keep both data from your Outlook contacts list and your mobile contact list. If you depend mostly on Outlook to add contacts and it is the master data, then you may select "Force Outlook -> phone", as shown. If this is your first time try, then it is advisable to make sure that you TICK the option "Show confirmation window before MyPhoneExplorer makes any chances.

  4. 4
After the process of analyzing your data and comparing, you will get a confirmation window on how to act with matching and sync results.
As shown in the photo, I have 976 entries to be added, and 567 to be created. You may also change the Default "Sync mode" from this window (marked in Red). If the Entry (meaning a contact) has mismatched data between your phone and Outlook contact list, you can choose of 4 options (marked [1] in Orange), and you can see the data on the right side to decide what to do. "Merge contacts" is best if you are not sure. And if a contact is in your phone and it is not on your Outlook contact list, then a new entry will be created as you can see in (marked [2] in Orange)

. If a merge conflict is detected, then you will get a window to choose the most update.

Questions and Answers

My phone explorer appears to go through the actions of syncing a file but the file does not appear in the target folder?

Hi, I have set up test folder on my phone and have selected it to be synced. I am getting the result explained above. I am not confident enough to try syncing important stuff in case of loss. I am using Vista. Thank you.

Some files and file types are not natively displayed by Windows, and you will need to adjust your folder options to view hidden files and folders when syncing from your mobile device to your Windows machine. Additionally, these programs are written to work with the latest versions of their respective supported systems. Please confirm that you have all of the latest drivers for your Windows Vista operating system, your phone, and the latest updates to supported Sync peripherals.

Once you've done this, restart your system, and restart your phone. Then, reconnect them, and attempt to repeat the process. Also, make sure that your AV (virus) program is not creating problems. This can be done by temporarily turning off your AV program while you complete a test transfer. Just make sure to scan the devices before you initiate the transfer.
