Questions and Answers

WEP is insecure and very outdated. Are these instructions up to date?

Actually, it's not outdated, but it is the technology being used to make a router as a repeater or as a WiFi range extender. WEP ill ensure more bandwidth.

Setting a router as a wireless extender and repeater is old technology, and rarely used nowadays, yet it isn't outdated, or being phased out, as it's still being used.

Typically, a range extender will connect via WiFi to the main SSID and repeat or create your own - only for Router to Extender. With Netgear routers, setting the other router as a WiFi Extender or booster must have less encryption. You can have multiple routers set as a range extender. Current technology does not have this function for multiple connections.
