Hello and welcome to VisiHow. Today we are going to show you how to turn on the auto correct and auto capitalization functions in your text messages or writing applications on the Samsung Galaxy S5.
To begin, press the power button on the right side of the phone to access the lock screen.
Unlock the phone by swiping across the lock screen which will take you to the home screen.
You may need to enter a PIN or pass-code.
Now there are 3 different ways to do this.
The first and most obvious way is to tap the Apps button.
Scroll down to Language and Input.
Tap on the gear next to Samsung Keyboard.
Now scroll down and tap Auto Replacement, Auto Capitalization, and Auto Punctuate.
This will take care of adding all of these great features to your phone.
There are two other ways to do this as well.
Press the home button on the bottom of the phone.
Swipe down for the notifications panel and tap the Settings icon in the top right corner.
Again, scroll way down and tap on Language and Input.
Just like before, tap the gear next to Samsung Keyboard.
Here we can turn on Auto Replacement, Auto Capitalization and Auto Punctuate.
There is one more way you can do this.
Press the Messages icon.
You will now notice the small keyboard icon in the top left corner of the screen.
Swipe down to open the notification panel and tap Choose Input Method.
Tap on Set Up Input Methods.
Tap the gear next to Samsung Keyboard.
Now you will see we are back in the same area where you can turn on Auto Replacement, Auto Capitalization, and Auto Punctuate.
Here you can turn on Auto Replacement for every language.
Go to the home screen by tapping the home button. From this moment forward messages that you type will be auto capitalized, auto corrected, and auto spaced.
Let me show you an example.
When I type "Isn't", as you can see, the keyboard is suggesting "Isn't", so I will tap on that. It also automatically adds a space when I tap it.
