Turn Text Message Notifications On or Off for HTC One M8

Hello, and welcome to VisiHow. In this video we are going to show you how to turn on or off the option to show a notification in the HTC One M8 status bar when messages are sent.


Steps

    To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the 'Power' button, located on top of the phone

    Once the phone has been activated we'll see the lock screen

    To unlock the phone, press and hold down on the screen, and swipe up

    Once the phone has been unlocked, we'll see that we're now on the home screen and there are icons at the bottom of the screen

    We need to enter the messages section
    .
    To do that, we need to find the messages icon. In this example, it's located at the bottom of the phone. We can see it's a square speech bubble which has three green holes with lines, in the middle.

    Press down on this icon, and we can see our messages

    We now have to enter the menu
    .
    To do that, press the icon in the top, right-hand corner of the screen. There are three small white squares, in a vertical line. Press down on this icon. This will show us some options.

    We want to select the second from bottom

    It says the word 'Settings' in white writing. Press down on this option.

    Now we want to select the word 'Notifications' out of this menu

    Press down on 'Notifications' at the top, in black writing.

    Now it's going to show our notification options

    At the top, we have options about received messages

    And if we scroll down we have options about sent messages

    We can see that it is the top option.

    This is currently not selected
    .
    That means that it's not active. If we send a message, then we don't receive a notification to tell us that the message has been sent. This allows us to see if a message has been sent successfully, if it's waiting, or if it's having any problems.

    We can then press down on the box on the far right of the screen

    If we press down on the box, it's going to put a check in it
    .
    If we put a blue check in it, it means that this option has now been selected. Next time we send a message, we will receive a notification telling us that messages are sent.

    Let's press down on this icon again to remove the blue check

    Now the option has been deselected, and this will not happen.
