We want to tap the white cog icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen.

We need to tap on the icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen.

  8. 8
Tap on "Settings" to open the TalkBack settings.
The TalkBack function allows the HTC One M8 to talk directly to us. It will tell us what options are on the screen, read all of the content on the screen and tell us when we touch different options. One part of this function is the "Shake to start continuous reading" option. This means that if you shake the phone, it will start to read to us continuously.

Right now, this option is disabled, but we can turn it on by pressing down on it.

Now we can change it to a different option.
We can see that the green circle is next to "Disabled", indicating that it is the selected option. However, we can change it to any other option. This option means how hard we need to shake the phone. For example, if we select "Very light" and we shake our phone on accident, then it will start continuously reading to us. That might be a little bit too sensitive. However, if we select "Very hard", we may have to vigorously have to shake the phone and we may not want to do that. It's better to select something in the middle where it's not too easy and not too hard. We'll press down on "Medium".

Now we can see that under the option, it says the word "Medium" to indicate that that is the selected option.
If we want to change that at any time or turn it off, then we can press down on the option again.
