You're watching VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to turn on or enable WiFi hotspot on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2. If you'd like to turn on your mobile hotspot on the Tab S2, it's a simple and easy process.
Swipe down from the top of the Tab.
This will open the notifications panel.
Then, go over to the "Settings" icon on the top right side.
It's a little gear-shaped icon. Give a single press on "Settings". This will take you to the "Settings" menu. The "Settings" options are on the left side of the screen.
Go down to the fourth option "Mobile hotspot and tethering".
Give a single tap on "Mobile hotspot and tethering".
On the right side of the screen you will see that the very first option now is "Mobile Hotspot".
It indicates "Off". Give a single tap on on "Mobile Hotspot". This will take us into the "Mobile Hotspot" submenu.
Currently it's named "AndroidAP".
We also get an indication of some graphics.
It tells us that the phone or tablet will provide a signal to a more fixed object, like a laptop or a desktop if you have a wireless card new desktop. It also works for other phones, anything that can connect to a wireless signal.
Now, you will see that there is some more information and some details here.
The important thing we're interested in is tapping on this little switch at the top to turn it on.
Give a single on the switch. This will turn it on. Once it is turned on, you will get a message informing you that "Turning on Mobile Hotspot will turn off WiFi". That is because your WiFi receiver will switch and will begin broadcasting a WiFi signal. It can't do both at the same time.
Now, you will see that out "Mobile Hotspot" is turned on.
Currently no devices are connected.
In order to connect, we need to turn WiFi on on the device that will connect it, select "AndroidAP" from the list, and then connect to the "AndroidAP" by entering in our password.
This is how we do that.
I'm going to use the iPhone as an example for you.
However, you may also use some other device.
From "Settings", we are going to go to "WiFi".
Tap once on "WiFi". We're going to wait for our WiFi network selection to come up.
Then, select "AndroidAP".
Tap one time on "AndroidAP".
Now, we need to enter in our password.
In our case the password, shown on our Tab, is "ultq3625". Once we've done that, we just tap "Join".
You will see now that we will connect and it will tell us that the iPhone has connected.
This is how you set up a W-Fi mobile hotspot using your Samsung Galaxy Tab S2.
When you're finished, press once the home button to go back to your home screen.
Later, if you want to turn "Mobile Hotspot" back off, just swipe down at the top of your device.
Scroll over to find "Mobile hotspot".
You can tap on "Mobile hotspot" to turn it off.
You can swipe down again.
Tap again on "Mobile hotspot" to turn it on.
Confirm the information by tapping "OK" enables our "Mobile hotspot".
This the same setting that it previously was. Each time you turn it off and on in the system, it will sometimes require a new password. We discussed how to adjust and modify those settings in another tutorial.
