Turn Off Facebook Chat on iPhone 6
Edited by Kara, Melissa Rae, Dougie, Anonymous
Hello, and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, I'm going to show you how to turn off your chat on Facebook using an iPhone 6.
To start with, unlock the phone using the fingerprint lock.
As soon as we have access to the home screen, we need to open the Facebook app.
The icon for it looks like a blue square with a white letter "F" on it. Give it a tap, and we are on the News Feed.
To reach the chat, all we need to do is place a finger on the screen and swipe it to the left.
Here is the chat. When we are logged in, we can see other people who are logged in and who are online now. In which case, we will see a green circle next to their names.
Also, we can see when they have been logged in last time.
For example, this person. On the right-hand side of her name, we can see that she's using the Facebook Messenger application and that she was online two hours ago.
This person was online 14 minutes ago.
If we are logged into Facebook chat, it allows other people to see our online status or last login.
If we want to turn off the chat, tap the gear icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen when the chat is open.
A pop-up menu will appear that allows us to turn it off or cancel if we have changed our minds.
Tap "Turn Off Chat".
It's completely off, and the screen went completely gray.
That also means that currently, our friends are not able to see our online status or last login.
To close the chat, swipe the screen.
You just watched me turn chat off on Facebook using the iPhone 6.
To turn it back on, access the chat and tap on the gear icon located in the top-right corner of the phone.
The pop-up menu will appear, and we can tap "Turn On Chat" to turn it back on.
Thank you for watching VisiHow.
