Hello! Welcome to VisiHow! In this video, we are going to show you how to turn on and off continuous contact uploading in Facebook on the HTC One M8.
To begin, we turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on the top of the phone.
Once the phone has been activated, we will see the lock screen.
To unlock the phone, we swipe the screen upwards.
Once the phone is unlocked, we will see the home screen; and there will be icons at the bottom of the screen. We need to access one of the icons now, as we want to open up the applications folder.
To open the applications folder, we need to tap the icon located at the bottom of the home screen.
The icon in the middle has a grid made up of white dots. We tap it. Our applications folder will be shown.
In the application folder, we need to find and tap the Facebook icon.
The icon has a blue background with the white "f" on top and "Facebook" written underneath. Tapping the icon will open up the application.
We now need to find the settings menu.
To do that, we need to tap the icon located on the far right of the screen in the white bar. There are three gray horizontal lines. This icon is quite faint, but we will be able to see it. We tap it to open up a menu.
We might need to scroll up or down to find the "App Settings" option.
We tap "App Settings".
There is a gray circle with a white cog icon inside next to it. Tapping it will open up a menu.
We need to tap "Continuous Contacts Upload".
In this video, the option is deactivated. We can see that by the white trigger next to the words.
If we tap the icon or anywhere on the section with the words, then Facebook is going up to open up a page that says, "Facebook is Better With Friends", and, "See who's on Facebook by continuously uploading your address book.
Then choose who you want to add as friends." What this means is that when we add people to our address book on the HTC One M8, it is going to try to connect friends from our contact list and phone book to our Facebook account continuously.
We tap the "Get Started" section at the bottom in the blue bar.
It will say, "Contacts Uploading Turned On". Facebook is going to find the contacts that we have in our phone book on the HTC One M8. This will show us which people from our phone book have a Facebook account.
Facebook will ask us if we want to add them as friends.
We're not going to add them now.
We are going to tap "Next" in the top right-hand corner of the screen in the blue bar.
We'll see "Invite to Facebook". We can invite all of the listed people from our HTC One M8 contacts that don't have a Facebook account. We can also invite all.
If we want to invite any of our contacts in the phone book, we tap the "Invite" buttons located to the right.
Alternatively, we tap "Invite All" at the bottom of the screen in the blue bar.
We tap "Done" in the top right-hand corner of the screen once we have finished.
The "Continuous Contacts Upload" option will be activated. The trigger to the right will be blue.
If we want to turn off the "Continuous Contacts Upload" option, and we don't want Facebook to try to continuously upload our contacts from our phone book to Facebook, then we can tap the toggle next to the option.
Facebook is going to ask, "Stop continuously uploading your contacts? Any contacts info you've previously uploaded here will be deleted."
We tap "Turn off" highlighted in blue.
The option will be deactivated. Facebook will say, "Contact information deleted."
This concludes our tutorial on how to turn on and off continuous contact uploads in Facebook on the HTC One M8.
