Edited by Freya, Crystal, Eng, Anonymous
Hello, you're watching VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to turn the captions on or off on a video in the YouTube application while using the iPhone 6.
To start, unlock the phone by pressing the 'home' button at the bottom of the screen or the 'lock' button on the right-hand side.
Once the lock screen is up, simply swipe and enter your passcode.
Alternatively, hold your finger onto the home button, which doubles as a fingerprint scanner, if you have that option enabled. This brings us to the home screen.
Find and tap on the 'YouTube' icon.
The icon has a red frame, a white box inside the frame, and then a red triangle in the center of that. Tapping on the icon will open up the app.
This automatically takes us to this 'What to Watch' page with the recommended videos depending on what else you've watched.
If you're not signed in, it will show you the most popular videos on YouTube.
Scroll through and find a video that you're interested in.
Tap it to start watching it. It will automatically play the video.
To pause, just tap on the video and then tap on the pause icon, which is 2 vertical lines.
There are also options around the edge of the video as well.
Tap on the 3 vertical dots in the top right corner.
This will bring up 3 options.
Tap on the middle option which has the 2 'c' characters in a rectangle and says 'OFF' underneath of it.
This will bring up a window at the bottom.
Tap on 'English (auto-generated) or 'Cancel'.
It is currently set to 'No captions', indicated by the blue check mark on the left-hand side. We're going to tap on 'English'.
When the video starts to play, it will have the captions.
To turn them off, tap on the 3 dots and select 'CC' again.
Tap on 'No captions'.
Now there won't be a bar along the bottom of the screen.
To go back, drag the video down and swipe it away.
This will bring us back to the 'What to Watch' page.
This concludes the tutorial on how to turn on captions on a video in the YouTube application on the iPhone 6.
If you have any questions or comments, please post them in the section below. Thank you for watching VisiHow.
