Anemia results when people lack adequate hemoglobin in their blood or healthy red cells. In fact, hemoglobin is the main reason why blood is red, and it is the most important part of red blood cells. Without hemoglobin, blood cells become unhealthy, which results in anemia. In addition, hemoglobin carries oxygen to the rest of the body, making the blood cells healthy and the organs function properly. If a person lacks red and healthy blood cells, he or she will likely feel exhausted or fatigued most of the time. Also, people with chronic diseases are prone to anemia, because of the cancer cells or unhealthy cells spreading throughout their body.

Unlike modern medications, herbs don't leave you with serious negative side effects. Turmeric has been one of the great and potent herbal medicines used by people since antiquity. Turmeric, just like other herbs, has minerals and nutrients. 4.4 grams of turmeric contains 3.1 percent of the daily-recommended dose of potassium, 3.7 percent of fiber, 4 percent of vitamin B6, 17 percent of manganese, and 10.1 percent of iron. Iron is the most important nutrient for treating anemia.

Of course, we don't want you to cook dishes using turmeric, because you may damage the fresh iron and antioxidants in it required for treating anemia. It will be much more beneficial to use the fresh raw turmeric for making a herbal juice.

FAQs

Is turmeric effective in treating anemia?

Turmeric is rich in iron, an essential nutrient that can treat anemia. Anemia is a health condition which the body does not contain healthy red blood cells. Iron, on the other hand, can help produce red blood cells in the body. These cells carry oxygen to the body's tissues; making one becomes enlivened and healthy-looking. If one has an iron deficiency, his or her blood cannot bring oxygen into the body's tissues effectively. This is when anemia occurs. Turmeric is considered one of the natural herbs rich in iron - which is effective in treating anemia and producing healthy hemoglobin.

How do I increase the amount of my hemoglobin?

I have very low amount of hemoglobin, and I would like to improve it naturally.

To increase the amount of haematoglobulin in your blood, it is recommended to make nettle tea by drying the grass and stewing it in boiling water. Filter the nettle and drink the tea (you can add honey too). You can also buy nettle already dried at any health food store. Then, eat food that contain high levels of iron, including: apples, dates, almonds, tofu, pomegranates, spinach, asparagus. If you eat meat, then you can eat shrimp and red meat; but always take vitamin C with the food, either with vitamins or with citruses, strawberries, broccoli, grapefruit, etc. You can further increase the effect with products containing folic acid: beetroots, bananas, rice, peanuts, et cetera.

What other herbal medicines can I take to cure my anemia?

Hi sir, is turmeric effective in treating anemia by boiling it or preparing it as a tea? I have been anemic since high school. Now I have a son, but I can say as years pass by, the anemia gets worse and worse. I am taking a Ferro B capsule which has vitamin B12. If I am not able to take one of those, it is very hard for me to sleep and I always have a headache. Sir, what are other herbal meds I can take to lessen my anemia? I also eat vegetables and fruits but if my anemia is triggered, I feel so exhausted and dizzy and get tired so easily. Thank you so much.
