Edited by Freya, Melissa Rae, Eng
Hello, you are watching VisiHow, and today I am going to show you how to track and add flights on the Kayak application on an iPhone 6.
To start, unlock the phone by pressing the big, round button located at the bottom of the phone, which is the home button.
Alternatively, you can press the lock button on the right-hand side of the phone.
This brings up the lock screen.
Swipe it across and enter the passcode, or press your finger onto the home button, which doubles as a fingerprint scanner if the option is enabled.
Locate and press the Kayak icon, which is bright orange with a white "K" in it.
The home screen is personalized in the example, so the icon is in the travel folder.
The main menu will appear with everything the app has to offer.
Since we're looking to track flights, you would think "Flights" would be the correct option, but that's how to search. Go down to the bottom and press the eighth option from the top, "Flight Tracker". It looks like an airplane with a radar signal around it.
There is nothing there at the moment.
Locate and press the orange plus sign at the top right-hand corner of the screen. It allows you to search for a flight.
If you know the flight number, press the "Flight #" option with the picture of an airplane on it.
To search by the departing airport, press the "Departing Airport" option with the picture of a plane taking off.
To search by the arrival airport, press the "Arrival Airport" option with the picture of a plane landing.
For example, press "Departing Airport" to open the menu.
Press "depart airport".
Type in a location or choose one of the displayed options.
For this example, we're going to choose Berlin.
Press "arrive airport", and type a location or choose one of the displayed options.
For this example, we are going to choose Paris.
Back at the menu, "airline" is an optional field, whereas the airports are required fields.
The departure date is automatically set as today. Press the date to change it.
Press a date in the calendar to specify exactly which flight you're looking for.
The 16th has been chosen in the example.
Departure time is optional.
if you want to, press "depart time".
Choose a time from the list.
Noon has been chosen in the example.
To return to the previous screen and discard the latest changes, press "Cancel" at the top-right corner of the screen.
Press the orange bar at the bottom of the screen that says "Search Flights", and wait for it to load.
A screen will appear with matching flights.
In this case, it shows flights between Berlin and Paris on Saturday.
Choose a flight and double-check by the numbers and the times.
Press one of the flights to select it, such as Delta for example.
A green check mark on the right-hand side will appear, which means it is being tracked.
To stop tracking it, tap it again and the check mark will disappear.
In the example, we've selected "Alitalia" and "Air France" because we're not sure exactly.
Press "Next" in the bottom right-hand corner.
It will show the details for a particular flight.
It will show exactly when it's leaving, which gate it should be and where the plane is.
Press "View Map" under "Terminal", if desired.
It will download a new application linked with Kayak.
Press "Yes" to download it, or press "Cancel" to go back.
Swipe the screen to the left to view the other flight.
The two dots at the bottom of the screen indicate how many flights are being tracked.
If there are 10 flights, there will be 10 dots. For now, there are just two.
To remove any of the flights, press the second icon from the right at the bottom of the screen, the overlapping squares.
Press the red "X" icon at the top left-hand corner of the flight information to stop tracking the flight.
Press "Done" in the bottom right-hand corner to return to the screen.
This is a VisiHow video, and I've just shown you how to track and add a flight on the Kayak application on an iPhone 6.
If you have any questions or comments, please pop them into the section below. Thank you very much for watching. Goodbye.
