The iPhone error 9006 is caused when your Anti Virus application is blocking the iPhone from being able to update information it needs to restart. In essence, what is happening is that your iPhone is connecting to iTunes, and telling iTunes that it needs to download additional information. Then, iTunes is trying to download that information, but is being blocked by your Anti Virus program.

This is why you are getting the error 9006 on your iPhone. Simply disable your Anti Virus, and you should be able to complete the download with no problem.

You just need to turn off your Anti Virus in order to be able to bypass the iTunes error 9006 and restart your iPhone. This is because your AV is not allowing iTunes to download the necessary information to recover your iPhone. As a result, your iPhone isn't able to access critical information necessary to complete the restoration.

You need to temporarily disable your AV program, which will then allow you to recover your iPhone and start to use it normally.

Yesterday I tried updating my iPhone and it went in to restore mode (connect to iTunes)?

I wasn't worried so I plugged my iPhone 5c into my Laptop and at 1st iTunes didn't recognize that my phone was plugged into the Laptop. It would make the connecting tone but iTunes didn't realize I had a phone connected. So I figured I will do it in the morning. Well now it is the next day and I plugged it into the Laptop, still nothing....so I tried my other Laptop but it was to slow to even open iTunes!! So I went to a friend's home and borrowed her Laptop. iTunes did recognize I had a phone plugged in but every time I try restoring it says error 9006....please HELP!
