Hello and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how to tag photos in the Gallery application on an HTC One M8.
To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the Power button located on the top of the phone.
Once the phone has been activated, we will see the lock screen.
To unlock the phone, swipe the screen upwards.
Once the phone has been unlocked, we will see the home screen and at the bottom we will see some icons.
We now need to open up the Applications folder.
To do that, we need this icon here located at the bottom of the home screen, in the middle. We can see that there is a grid made up of white dots. Press down on it and the folder will open.
We now need to find the Gallery application and it is located here.
We can see that there is an icon of a photo. It looks like a photo of some yellow sand dunes. Underneath, it has the word "Gallery". Press down on this icon and it will open up our Gallery application.
It's best to be in the "Timeline" section, to show how we can tag photos.
Right now we can see that we are in the "Albums" section. Let's press down on the three horizontal lines, here. Press down on the three horizontal lines.
We can go to the "Timeline" section located here.
Press down on "Timeline". This allows us to see all our photos in one place. If we're in the album section, we can only tag photos from one album at a time. This just allows us more freedom. Now we can see all our photos and it just allows us more possibilities where we can see a lot of our photos.
We can then tag these photos and to do that, we need to press on this icon here on the top right-hand corner of the screen.
We can see that there are three white dots and a vertical line. Press down on this icon.
Then we have the option to add tags.
We can see that it says the word "Add tag". Press down on the "Add tag" option.
Now we have to select one or more items.
We are going to press down on the photos and we will see that there will be a circle with a check inside. That means that the photo is being selected.
We can see at the bottom right-hand corner of the screen it says the word "NEXT".
Next to the word "NEXT" it has a number in parenthesis and this number reflects the number of photos that we've selected. Two photos are selected and the number two is in the parenthesis in this section. Press down on the word, "NEXT".
Now we have the option to add tags.
We're going to write something quick. We're just going to write "Holiday 2015". That's the tag for us. We're grouping these photos by tagging them.
Now we can "SAVE" this option.
Press down on the "SAVE" icon located here. That's going to save tags added to our photos.
Now let's go to this icon again in the top right-hand corner of the screen, the three horizontal lines.
Now we go down to "Tags" located here.
We're going to see that it's like creating another album, but it's tags. It's a tagging method, but it's just like creating another album. But if photos are in different albums for whatever reason, we can still tag them together. Here we can see we have two photos in "Holiday 2015".
Press down on one of the photos in that section and we can see that this is the tagged photo that we have just done.
This then concludes our tutorial on how to tag photos in the Gallery application on an HTC One M8.
