Caution: ** FLASH HARDSPL BEFORE FLASHING ANY CUSTOM ROMs OR RADIOS **

Install HardSPL4 over ActiveSync via USB cable

    Extract above Downloaded HSPL4.zip to an empty folder.

    Connect your WM Mobile with Sync Mobile to your Laptop/PC, via Activesync over USB cable

    Run HSPL4.exe from your Laptop/PC.
    Read the shown info, before clicking next in the HardSPL program.

    HSPL will check the USB connection and enter Bootloader screen.
    (with three color screen, called also tri-color screen).

    Select HSPL2.08 to run Android / WP7 / MAGLDR, and click NEXT.
    it will be flashed to your mobile.

    When it's finished the mobile will reboot.
    Click OK to end the program.

    To go into "Bootloader Mode", turn off the mobile, press and hold VOLUME DOWN, while keeping it pressed, also press and hold the POWER button.
    keep pressing for about 3-5 seconds, and the tri-color screen should appear. Make sure that the screen shows that SPL / HardSPL is installed.

Make sure you have Radio 2.15. if you do not, then

    Run CustomRUU.exe from the Radio's Folder and follow the instructions.

Install MAGLDG 1.13, being both HSPL2.08 and Radio 2.15 are installed into your HD2

    Your HD2 is running WM.
    Make sure ActiveSync is active on your Laptop/PC and simply connect it to your Laptop/PC over USB cable. If for any reason you cannot get Activesync to run and find your mobile simply put it into Bootloader mode, as above instructions.

    Now connect your mobile to your Laptop/PC over USB cable.
    In "Bootloader" mode, wait for the drivers to be installed automatically if this is the first time you're connecting your mobile to the Laptop/PC. Before Connecting a word "Serial" is shown in the white area of the screen, after connection it should change to "USB".

    Browse to the folder where you extracted MAGLDR 1.13 in your Laptop/PC and run ROMUpdateUtility.

    Tick the checkbox and click "NEXT".

    Click "Update" and click "NEXT for the next two screens, "MAGLDR" installation will start and your mobile will start showing the progress, which should take few seconds.
    And your mobile will reboot after the installation is finished.

Finally, you need the "ClockworkMod" (referred to as "Clockwork" or "CWM")

    Boot your HD2 into MAGLDR by turning your mobile off, turn it ON by keep pressing the Power key until you see the MAGLDR options list.

    Extract the contents of the downloaded Recovery "ClockworkMod" zip file to your Laptop/PC.
    250MB Recovery is used for most ROMs including ones ported from HTC devices. While 400MB is used for large ROMs, specifically the ones ported from HTC Desire HD.

    From the extracted files, run "DAF.exe".

Preparing and Formatting your SD card

    Extract the "sdfmt3_1.zip", and format your SD card using SD Formatter.
    Go to Options and make sure to set "Format Size Adjustment" to ON.

    This will launch "Clockwork Boot".

(XXXX MB)-(512-1024 MB)-(128-256 MB)

I used 1024MB for Ext X and 256MB for Swap

Now your SD is ready to install the Android ROM

    Copy the ROM Zip file into Fat32 section of the SD card, and Rename it to "Update.zip".

    First boot takes approximately 5-7 minutes, (If the initial boot took more than 8 minutes, a mistake is being done, and the process must be commenced again).

Tips Tricks & Warnings

  • Run that HSPL3_PKG.exe if Install MAGLDG 1.13 is not running and you keep getting connection error.
  • Entering MAGLDR by: While you're mobile is off, turn it ON by keep pressing the Power key until you see the MAGLDR options list.
  • How to perform a Hard Reset: Please be informed that Hard Resetting will wipe out and delete ALL your personal data and settings and restores your mobile to factory default. i.e. brings it back as if you turned on the mobile for the first time after purchasing.

With the device turned off, press and hold the VOLUME UP plus VOLUME DOWN, keep pressing them and lightly press the POWER button. Continue pressing the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons until you see this message on the screen: "This operation will delete all your personal data, and reset all settings to the manufacturer default settings. Press VOLUME UP to restore manufacturer defaults, or press other keys to cancel.". Now release the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons. Press the VOLUME UP button to perform the Hard Reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset.

  • You can also use Clear Storage to reset your device back to factory default settings:

1. On the Home screen, slide to the Settings tab and then tap Menu > All Settings. 2. On the System tab, tap Clear Storage. 3. Enter "1234" and then tap YES.

It is possible that your battery drained while doing the steps mentioned above. Charge the phone first before turning it on again. If after charging and the issue remains the same, re-do the steps to correct it. If you somehow brick the phone, seek a technician's help to get it fixed.
