Sorry to bother you - smartphone novice here?

Just trying to backup phone data to fix the reboot/fingerprint reader problem with marshmallow. Kies 3 says enter password on device, but where? Nothing on my device is asking for a password. I have tried: Connected Galaxy S5 to PC with USB as directed, and it opened up the Kies 3 app on the PC. S5 seems oblivious to it all -- just sitting as if it's waiting for me to call or open an app or turn it off or whatever. Nothing unusual on the phone, and nothing asking for password

Back up data from defective SIM card?

I purchased a new SIM card for my AT&T Go Phone, before I install it I want to back up the data on the current SIM card to my PC, not quite sure how to do that. I have tried: Nothing, just now reading how to do it. I think it was caused by: Not sure, but I have researched the problem with my phone locking up 3-4 times per day, requiring the battery to be removed to restart the phone after it locks up. Read that SIM card is defective, have had this card for 3 years. Moved to new area and want to update my Area Code anyway, so bought a new SIM

Thank you so much for your help! Your article was very well written. But it leads to..

Me needing to fully understand how can I clear space on my phone. I have gone through and tried to clear out apps I don't use, clear cache, delete this and that, and it isn't making a dent. What can I do?. I have tried: Settings >> Storage >> Apps >> uninstalling all unnecessary apps, delete cache, delete data where ever possible

Is it only possible to do this one at a time? The uninstalling process seems ridiculously slow. I timed it at nearly 3 minutes for an altimeter app.

What happens if I Force Stop stuff like an Amazon app? Why can't I delete the data (58M) ?. I think it was caused by: Too much stuff?
