Sir, I spilled water over my Mac book 10 days ago?

I dried it by opening up fan battery for 14 days. Then tried to power it on, it worked but only for 12 hrs then it was not powering on.

Whenever a liquid is spilled over a computer there is never any guarantee that a quick fix for drying it out will work. If you dried it out a Macbook for fourteen days that is ample time to completely dry it out as usually that takes four to five days. Drying it out some more is not likely to help the Macbook recover from the original spill. Your best course of action at this course is to take it the Mac Store and get an estimate on what it would cost to repair it. if the price is agreeable to you then the computer will be submitted along with a ticket to the Mac Store's repair department.

My mobile phone's motherboard was damaged, could I still retrieve the data when I changed it?

Can I retrieve the data from my phone if the motherboard is damaged?

You can just take out the microSD card and place it into a new phone. However, the internal memory chip is soldered via a ball grid array onto the motherboard. It is possible to remove it from the old motherboard (if you still have it) but it is unlikely that you will be able to reconnect it anywhere.

Electrical breaker trips & electrical sparks observed?

Noticed my computer would shut down by itself when installing Win XP.

This happens when I changed to another Intel CPU fan. Worst to happen is that when I connect the CPU fan to the board, and CPU connector I observed electrical sparks & trips Electrical breaker. Do you suspect the PSU had failed ? Something wrong with the CPU fan? Worst case scenario; is the motherboard & CPU gone at the same time?

First of all, never connect PSU to the computer with power still running. When the computer is on standby, there is still low voltage running in the PSU: you have to take the plug out of the socket or at least turn off the PSU by using its switch. Wait for a couple of minutes, ground yourself by touching the metal case of the computer or by wearing a special wrist strap, and start connecting devices.

Sparks are never a good sign. It appears that it could have been either static electricity or a short circuit. The possible malfunctioning parts can be any on the motherboard: the PSU (most likely; it may have not enough power to run the system too), motherboard, CPU, RAM, any peripherals. Start off by finding a working powerful PSU (600 W or more). You can take it out of a working computer and connect to your system. Disconnect extra peripherals (extra HDDs, SSDs, a sound card, etc.) Then, if it does not work, remove all of the RAM sticks but one. Exchange RAM sticks. Use another video card. Lastly, if you were building the system, you can remove the CPU and look at the pins in the socket. They must be all straight. If nothing helped, then it is either your CPU or motherboard. Consider what is better for you: testing another CPU on your motherboard or testing your CPU on a new motherboard.

Hi, I just spilled water on my mac book pro and it's not turning on anymore. So I opened it, removed the battery then the hard drive, and checked that I can still read the hard drive on my Windows laptop using a HFS reader just to be relieved concerning my data. It doesn't look damaged. Now I wonder if motherboard damage is the reason it doesn't turn on, so I was looking to see how to know if my motherboard is working or not.
