Tips Tricks & Warnings

  • While sharing your files or folders using the Dropbox app for iPhone or iPad isn't exactly the same experience you'll have with the Dropbox website, it is a much quicker way of sending files to people than using a computer.
  • If your Dropbox account is already full, you can still get more free space by inviting your friends to sign up at Dropbox, or by asking them to install the app on their computers, and by linking to Twitter and Facebook.

Other Things that You Can Do with Dropbox on your iPhone

  1. 1
Save and read files that you come across online.
iPhones are rather tricky when it comes to saving files. It does not really work like usual computers where you can simply drag files into folders. If in case you are reading something online and you see a downloadable file, you can click on it and you have the option to save it onto your dropbox for future reading. The benefit here is that it is very quick to do and you can even access that file in other devices. iPhones running on iOS7 work very fast, therefore, downloading huge files onto Dropbox should not be a problem, unless the problem is the internet connection. This same file that you download online can also be shared to others if you follow the steps written above.

  2. 2
    Organize files within your iPhone.
As file saving and organizing in iPhone usually requires you to download particular applications, you may just want to use Dropbox for this particular purpose. What's nice with Dropbox is that it allows you to organize your files based on folders. You can create folders based on your preference. However, keep in mind that with this particular option, you would need internet connection in order to access your files. If you are looking for something that will allow you to view files even without internet, then this is not the ideal application for that.

Question and Answer

The app does not have a share button. It has a export or forward button

The button for share using the dropbox application does not have a name where you would know that "Oh this is the Share button" its not really like that. But, if you are going to check the help you will see what are the icons for a specific function and what it's for. However, the share icon looks like a box with an arrow going to the right side and located on the bottom left side on your screen. Remember that whenever you are going to go to the list of files you have from your dropbox, you would see there an open box on the bottom left side. When you are going to select a file that you want to share, you will see that icon as well. Also, you will also see there the share button on your main files that is located on the top right corner, near the time.
