Hello and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how to share a photo via email from the Gallery application on an HTC One M8.
To begin, turn the phone on by the Power button located on top of the phone.
Once the phone has been activated, we will see the lock screen.
To unlock the phone, swipe the screen upwards.
Once the phone has been unlocked, we will see the home screen and at the bottom we will see some icons.
We need this icon located at the bottom of our home screen in the middle.
We can see that there is a grid made of white dots. This is the applications folder icon. Press down on it and it will open up the applications folder.
We now need to find the Gallery application and it's located here.
There is an icon of a photo and the photo looks like some yellow sand dunes. It also says the word "Gallery" underneath. Press down on this icon and it will open up our Gallery application.
We need to be in the "Albums" section.
There are multiple ways to share photos. The first way is to actually view an individual photo. To do that, we're going to be in the "Albums" section.
We're going to go to "All photos" and press down on that.
Now we're going choose one photo, and press down on it to view it directly.
If we swipe the screen up from the bottom, we can see in the top that there's this icon.
It looks like a small circle with two arrows coming out of the top of it. It will disappear very quickly. If we press down on this, this is going to allow us to share.
We can see, "Share via" and then we want to select "Gmail" or another email account.
If we have multiple email accounts we can select one that's right for us. This is one way we can share an individual photo. We just press down on "Gmail" or whichever email provider we want and that will allow us to share this photo via email.
Press the "Back" button in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen.
Press that twice.
The other way to share a photo is when we're looking at photos in an album, not individually, we can press down on one photo, hold down, and a menu will appear.
There is an option to "Share", here.
If we press down on the word "Share", then we can see the same menu will appear.
Let's go back again, by pressing the back arrow once.
In the album, there is an icon at the top of the screen that we need.
It is the white little circle with the two arrows coming out of it. This is going to allow us to share photos, but it's going to allow us to share multiple photos as well, which is quite useful. Press down on this icon.
Then we are going to be asked, "Share via" and we want to share via Gmail so we're going to press down on the "Gmail" icon.
It will give us the option to select one or more items.
We can just press down on the photo we want and we'll see that there is now a circle with a check inside.
I'm going to press down on two photos.
We can see at the bottom right-hand corner of the screen, it says the word "Next (2)" indicating that we have chosen two photos.
Press down on the word "Next" when we have selected the photos we want to share. It's going to open up the "Gmail" account for us, the photos will be attached there.
We can press this drop-down menu icon.
It's a small 'v', pointing down. This allows us to add some more information. We'll also have the option to add a contact, add a subject, and we can also write and text as well if we want.
If we want to add a contact, we can just write the first letter of the contact that we want to write.
When we're ready, we can press the send icon, located up here.
It looks like an arrow and a paper airplane. Then we can share these photos.
This then concludes our tutorial on how to share a photo or photos by email from the Gallery application on an HTC One M8.
