Setup Strong VPN on iPhone 6
Edited by Grimm, Leomar Umpad, Eng, Anonymous
You are watching VisiHow and today we are going to show you how to setup the Strong VPN application on your iPhone 6.
Let's begin by pressing the power button one time.
A single press on the power button will open the lock screen. Alternatively, you can also press the Home button.
Then, we are going to swipe to unlock the phone by entering in a PIN.
You can also use your thumb or fingerprint to unlock with the Touch ID fingerprint sensor on the Home button.
We are going to tap on the Strong VPN icon.
This has a golden shield with a black swipe across it which indicates security and a lock. Let's tap on it. One tap on the icon will open up Strong VPN.
In order to sign in, we need to enter an email address and a password.
I'm going to enter that information now. Once you've entered in your email address and password, you're going to tap on "Done". After you've tapped "Done", you will be given the option to sign in or not. I'm going to go ahead and tap "Sign In".
It's going to find available login servers.
You can choose from a range of servers in different places around the United States, Europe, and the rest of the world. As you can see now, we've entered in.
We are given a welcome message, swipe right to continue.
You will see that you can connect and disconnect simply by tapping in the center of the screen. If you are using a PPTP account, you will need to follow additional steps.
If you want to change between your packages or you have multiple packages, tap on the package you want to choose on the lower-right part of the screen.
If you want to change the main servers, you can tap on the server options in the bottom-right part of the screen.
Let's swipe to the last page.
Here, you can see that you have Account options, App Info, Live Support, and the ability to Sign Out.
That is done by swiping right on the main screen. For those of you who are not familiar with Strong VPN, they have industry-best support for VPN servers and subscriptions. It is the company that I personally recommend over any other company out there.
Let's go ahead and tap on Skip to finish the rest of this tutorial.
Now, we are disconnected.
You can see that my location is Washington D.C., United States. I have a special PPTP account and my current IP address is shown on the upper-left part of the screen.
If I swipe right, I will have the option check my account, view the app info, to view life support or to sign out.
I can tap on the screen to get rid of the options.
If I want to connect, I tap on the screen again.
Now that I've tapped on the screen, it is connecting me to my VPN. You can see that my Georgian IP address beginning with 91 is changing.
I am switching to the mirror - I am connecting.
Now, I've been given the option to install my profile to the device as a VPN, let's go ahead and tap on "Install".
I need to enter my device passcode.
Let's tap that in. Now, my device passcode has been entered in. I'm getting my root certificate installed, my VPN certificates, and my unverified profile is going to be installed as well. Let's go ahead and install those. Give it one more time to tap the "Install" option.
Now, the profile has been installed.
I can tap "Done" or if I want other details, I can tap "More Details" and see additional information. I'm not terribly worried about that though. Let's go back and tap on "Done". I'm not terribly worried about it because I know this company well. I've been doing business with them for almost 10 years and I've never had a problem.
You can see that some of the accounts are not as easily connected or disconnected so you need the Settings app to do this.
Users can use an Open VPN or an IPSec account. However, this account does work on the phone as I have used it.
You simply go in to the Settings option and select how you would like to setup the PPTP account.
We are going to "Skip" this.
Now, we are Connectable.
What we need to do now is exit the application - give the Home button a single tap.
We are going to go into our settings and here is our Strong VPN profile.
We are going to go back.
What we are looking for is our VPN connection.
For those of you who are not sure how to get here, or you are trying to do it on your own, you just go to "Settings"; then you go down to your "General Tab" and tap on "General" and scroll down to "VPN". Tap on "VPN".
You can see that I've got my Strong VPN Connection.
Either of these two that I wold like to do, I simply tap on the switch to connect my VPN. My VPN is now connecting. Give it a few minutes to finish the connection and you should see that I now have a little VPN icon on the status bar.
If I want to confirm that the VPN is connected, I can give a single press to my Home button, tap on Strong VPN application, and check what my IP address is.
It's currently refreshing. Give it a minute to finish the refresh and it should show us an updated Washington D.C. IP address. It is an indication that I am connected.
If I press the Home button on my phone, anything that I do will appear to anyone else as if I am in the United States of America.
This concludes our tutorial on how to use the Strong VPN Connection to connect to a VPN with your iPhone 6.
