You're watching VisiHow. In the video tutorial, we are going to review how to use a screen lock on the Samsung Note 10.1 (2014 Edition).
First, we need to go to Settings.
We can either find Settings in the applications folder as a gear-shaped icon or in the notification panel by swiping down from the top center of the screen by using a finger.
We can tap the Settings icon.
The icon is gear-shaped and is in the top right-hand corner.
We need to tap "Device" located on top.
We will find "Sound and display" and "Personalization".
We tap "Lock screen".
It is located right below "Personalization". We will see the different types of screen security.
We tap "Screen lock".
We can choose from "Swipe" with "No security", "Signature" with "Low security", "Pattern" with "Medium security", "PIN" with "Medium to high security", "Password" with "High security", and "None" with no security.
For example, let's tap "Pattern" to make a pattern.
It is medium security.
We draw a pattern.
The pattern will be recorded.
We can tap "Retry" to make a new pattern.
We can tap "Continue" if we like the pattern that we've currently made.
To confirm the pattern, we must draw it one more time.
Now, we need to set up a backup PIN.
It is needed if we forget the pattern that we have created. In this video, we enter 1110.
We confirm the PIN that we have made.
In this video, we enter 1110.
We tap "Done".
Now, our lock screen will be protected with a screen lock. Now, let's access the screen lock.
We press the power button to switch the device into the sleep mode.
