Set Alarm on Samsung Galaxy S5

Hi, you're watching VisiHow, and today we are going to teach you how to use the alarm function on your Samsung Galaxy S5 phone.
To start with, let's press the power button on the side.
That is going to open up to our lock screen where we would swipe down to open our pattern, enter your pin, swipe or whatever method you may have to access your phone. Once here, we are going to tap on the applications or "Apps Icon" to get into our folder.
If you're already somewhere else in the phone you could simply press the home button that is here.
That would take you back to the main screen where you could select the apps icon.
So let's tap on apps, and what we are looking for is a clock.
Our clock is an icon that not surprisingly looks like a clock.
What we are going to do next is tap the clock icon, which is going to bring up our clock menu.
We have the option for an alarm, we have the option for world clock, we have the option for a stopwatch, we have the option for a timer.
The purpose of this tutorial is to discuss the alarm.
So we would be using the alarm. Do please note that if you turn your phone into landscape mode you will lose the upper menu and you're going to have to use this button to delete alarm or use this button to add an alarm, but there is no way for you to use that top menu again.
Okay, so lets switch our phone back to the upright position , which will then give us access to the top menu again.
Now what we are going to do is, start by showing you my alarm.
I can tap this alarm, and I would open it up and you can see what I have got here.
I have got an alarm every morning that goes off at basically 7am in the morning.
My alarm type is vibration and sound.
I have this set 5 days a week.
It is set to repeat weekly.
I have an alarm tone that is set to maximum volume.
I have my snooze set at 5 minutes, 3 times, although generally speaking I never use snooze.
I have the smart alarm function set that I find to be rather pleasant since I actually like to get up at 7 O'clock in the morning.
The alarm is just there in case I don't naturally wake up. What the smart alarm does is it starts a few minutes early with a very quite music and gradually increases that which I find to be a pleasant way to wake up.
Then of course we have our name, which in my case is good morning Mr awesome.
My significant other disagrees with that, but it nice for me to see each morning, assuming that I am not so tired that I don't even know its the phone and just press the off button.
So let get you started with an alarm.
I am going to tap cancel here since I don't need to edit my alarm.
Now I am going to press the plus button.
This is our menu here if I want to delete an alarm, which we would get to in a bit.
Press the plus button.
Let's set the alarm for 6 O'clock in the morning because I want to make sure you get up in the morning before me. We are going to get to set Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, Thursday can be your day off.
Tap that and you can have sound, you can have vibration, or you can have vibration and sound. For this tutorial purposes, we are going to use vibration and sound.
Tap that morning flower, but we can choose from several alarm tone. Here we have my last bow, mystic tone, personally some of these alarms are just irritating. This one especially is irritating, so we will use that for you, to make sure you get out of bed.
Now we are going to scroll down some more, and we have our volume, and we are going to turn it up all the way and make sure you get up.
You can turn snooze on, or you can turn "Snooze" off. I am going to turn snooze on because I know people plan to snooze, and I am the usual one in that.
Now smart alarm will activate before the alarm, what is smart alarm?
Lets tap it and see.
The alarm will start sounding at a low volume a few minutes early and will slowly increase in volume.
Okay... that's fantastic! 3 minutes, 1 minute, 10 minutes, 30 minutes and then you can choose the tone. I have it set for 3 minutes, so let's keep it there.
We have our beginning of life, gentle glide, shining star.
you can be a shining star sometimes Mr awesome.
We are going to save, and now we are going to scroll down here.
If you tab on snooze, by the way, your going to get the same option, 1 time, 2 times, 3 times, 10 times, and Cancel.
And we are going to name the alarm.
Lets call it sunshine. Done...
There you go sunshine, you have got your alarm set.
Now we can save this alarm. Now your Sunshine alarm is set and ready to go.
Now to test the alarm.
What I have always liked to do is, lets see we are on 11:48, so let just reset this to make sure it is going to work.
save it and lets go back.
Lets see if we made an alarm.
Shouldn't take less than a minute since we are on 11:48 and its 11:49. That the alarm should trigger. I have my alarm set and it always goes off. One of the great things about the Samsung Galaxy S5 is that even if your phone is turned off, the alarm would still come on. Which is fantastic if your battery goes dead
Now, swipe this way (Left) to snooze.
Swipe this way (Right) to turn it off.
Off, that it.
Its off no snooze. Its now going to ring again, it would ring again tomorrow though.
So lets go back to clock, lets delete your alarm amazing and awesome as you are, I don't want to be disturbed every day.
Delete, tap it, Done.
That alarm is now gone. I can undo it if a made a mistake, just by tapping Undo, but it wasn't a mistake, so lets repeat that process again and get rid of it.
And there you are.
That is how you use your alarm and set it up. Get your snooze set up, turn it off and everything else.
Thank you very much for choosing VisiHow.
Hopefully we have been able to help you today. If you need more information or assistance with your alarm or your clock, do please let use know.
