    To start with, we unlock the phone using fingerprint lock

    We are looking for the Messenger application

    It looks like a white and blue icon with a white lightning bolt inside of it. Give it a single tap to open.

    We are on the "Recent" chat window

    Let's pick a chat. We'll use this one. Tap on it to open our Chat History.

    In order to send voice messages we need to tap on the little microphone sign, which sits on the menu bar between our keyboard and between messages history

    Give a single tap to the microphone.

    Now there's a "Record" button

    Tap on "Record."

    We need to tap and hold on the "Record" button

    As soon as we let it go the message will be finished. Let's see how it works. Place your finger. "Hi. Did you have a nice day today? Please, if you have any plans let me know."

    Now when we are finished recording let the finger off and the Voice Message is sent

    To send another message, again we place the finger to "Record" and it will start recording

    One, two, three. "Hi. I forgot to ask you, did you bring the canteen yesterday? Thank you."

Hi, would the microphone icon be anywhere other than on the bar?

I don't have the microphone icon. I have tried: I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Facebook messenger app, I have tapped on every icon, but none yielded a microphone. I think it was caused by: I have no clue why I don't have the microphone icon. Can you help?

How do I make a voice recording on Facebook messenger on an iPhone 6 plus?

I watched your video and it says to tap on the microphone above the menu bar. Well I don't have a microphone icon anywhere on the page. so I don't know how to do it. I don't have a microphone icon to tap your video refers to one but on my phone there isn't a microphone icon to tap on to make a voice recording.
