You're watching VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to search for something on the Amazon application using the iPhone 6.
To begin, unlock the phone by pressing the lock button on the right-hand side.
Alternatively, press the home button at the bottom. This will bring up the lock screen.
Swipe right and enter the passcode.
Alternatively, press your finger onto the home button, which doubles as a fingerprint scanner, if that option is enabled.
Find and tap on the Amazon icon.
The icon itself is white with "amazon" in black, with a blue shopping cart below it. This will open up the application.
It automatically takes us to the home screen where we have a bar along the top, underneath of where it says "amazon".
On the left-hand side of the bar, we have a magnifying glass, and on the right-hand side of the bar, we have a camera.
Tap on the bar to start typing something we would like to search for.
When we're happy, we can tap on a search suggestion or tap on "Search", which is the blue option in the bottom right corner.
This gives us the results of what was searched.
In this case, it's suncream. We can also search using our voice.
First, tap on the search bar and tap on the white "x" on the right-hand side to clear it.
Tap on "Voice" on the left-hand side, which has a microphone as well.
We now have the option to tap on "Grant Microphone Access".
We can also press "Not now". If we tap on "Not now", we can't use the microphone with the Amazon application. We're going to press the yellow bar, which allows it.
We can tap on "OK", or "Don't Allow" if we've changed our mind.
Say what to search for.
In this case, we're saying "books".
Amazon is now searching for books.
We need to enunciate quite clearly when using the microphone on most applications, but, it usually works quite well. We can also search using our camera.
Tap on the search bar again, then tap on the "x" to clear the search box.
Tap on "Scan it" on the right-hand side with a picture of a camera.
We need to give Amazon permission to use the camera.
Tap on "Cancel" on the left-hand side to cancel, or "Settings" to go to the settings and allow access to the camera.
Now it tells us that we have allowed Amazon access to the microphone but not the Camera.
Tap on the switch to enable it and it will turn green.
Press the home button twice to bring up the applications we have open, then tap on the Amazon app we were on before.
Then, tap "Scan it" with the camera again.
Put an item, which we have here (although it's quite dark), in front of the camera.
It will show a green checkmark when it's completed.
As we can see, it has determined that we are searching for "An American in Paris", the DVD.
When it's searching, it shows little white dots as it's scanning.
Tap the item at the bottom to bring up information about that particular item.
We have to hold it very still for it to recognize the item, but we can use the cover as well as the barcode.
In this case, the barcode is on the back of the DVD.
We can then view the information as we normally would on the application.
Tap on the gray arrow in the top left-hand corner to go back.
Tap "Done" in the top left corner.
We're back at the home screen where we began.
This concludes the tutorial on how to search for an item on the Amazon application on the iPhone 6.
