Hello and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how to search and connect to other media devices when using an HTC One M8.


Steps

    To begin, let's turn the phone on by pressing the Power button located on top of the phone

    Once the phone has been activated, we will see the Lock screen

    To unlock the phone, press down on the screen and hold down until the two lock icons appear at the bottom

    Then swipe up.

    Once the phone has been unlocked, we will see the Home screen, and at the bottom of the screen will be several icons

    We now need to find the Settings menu, and to do that, we need to swipe the Notification panel down.

    To do that, press down at the top of the screen, hold down, then swipe down

    Once the Notification panel has appeared, we will see an icon at the top right-hand corner of the screen

    It is a white cog icon. This is our Settings icon.

    Press down on that icon, and it will open up the "Settings" menu

    It says the word "Settings" in the top left-hand corner of the screen.

    We want to be in the first section

    It says the words "WIRELESS & NETWORKS" in the gray bar.

    We are looking for the option that says "Media output"

    Next to those words is an icon that looks like a laptop screen with a gray triangle inside it.

    Press down on this option, and it's going to search for media devices in our location

    As we can see, it has found one
    .
    It's found "ORB - Stereo BT device". This is a netbook, and if we want to connect to it now, all we need to do is press down on that section. The "Media output" feature will find all devices within the vicinity of the phone, and it is going to use Bluetooth as well to connect to these devices.

    For now, press down on a device name to connect to it

    A message window will pop up that says, "Media output - Connecting to", followed by the device name

    Then it will use Bluetooth, and it is going to send a Bluetooth pairing request to the device

    Then there will be a number. At that point, we need to look at the device we are trying to connect to. It will ask if the passkey is the same.

    If the passkey numbers are the same on both devices, then tap on "PAIR" at the bottom right corner of the pop-up message

    This will then pair that device with our phone.
