Samsung Galaxy S5 keeps going into Driving Mode. I do not want that. How do I turn this feature OFF?

The Samsung Galaxy S5 automatically turns Driving Mode (now known as Car Mode) ON when you enter a car and connect the phone to your car via your car's Bluetooth connectivity. To turn this feature OFF, do the following:

Was this helpful? Yes | No | I need help

  • Open your Settings application.
  • Scroll through until you find Location services.
  • Tap My places.
  • Tap Car.
  • Tap Select Method.
  • Tap Bluetooth.
  • Select your vehicle's Bluetooth.

Your phone will now stop automatically turning Driving Mode on. If you do not connect your device to your car's Bluetooth and it automatically turns on anyway, do the following:

  • Open your Settings application.
  • Navigate to Voice input and output.
  • Tap Text-to-speech settings.
  • Turn Car Mode off.

This should fix your issue. If not, you may have an application that is causing Car Mode to turn on automatically when it senses that your phone is in your pocket or when your phone recognizes that you are moving at car-like speeds. Call Samsung to troubleshoot with them and see if they have any further suggestions.

No way to enhance volume while in car mode. Volume is too low. I have tried: Volume turned up all the way for phone and media. I think it was caused by: Phone is in a cell booster cradle but the speaker is not blocked
