PIN Turns To Swipe Lock Screen Problem on Samsung S5?

I set my 10 digit pin and was sure I had not made an error but I find that when I turned my Samsung S5 off it's turned into a swipe lock screen. I can access the phone by can't change the pin as for some reason it's incorrect. I can access my phone, I can't change the pin, I don't want to factory reset
