Samsung Galaxy S4 is dead and will not start up or respond to a charger?
Hi, my Galaxy S4 has died. I've checked out a number of articles on the internet and none has helped fix the issue.. . After the phone died, we connected it to a charger; a 'lightning bolt' appeared and the red light turned on for a while but both disappeared after some time. The phone still got warm.. . We tried using an aftermarket battery (higher capacity) which managed to power up the phone and take it to the homepage/login screen but it died again soon after.. . We bought a new battery and the phone seemed to be able to charge - lightning bolt, red light, followed by the normal charging icon, but that disappeared not long after.. . The battery needed to remained plugged into the charger for 10 hours (as per the battery's instructions) and the phone quite hot during that time.. . The phone remains dead - the VOLUME DOWN + HOME SCREEN + POWER BUTTON combination does not work and isn't able to be picked up by ODIN (since the phone would not power up in any mode).. . The power button seems to be in order given it did power up once, but died soon after.. . I'd like to be able to at least 'hook it up' with ODIN.. . Please advise. The safe mode or download mode do not work, and the power button seems to be in working worker. I have tried: All listed out in detail in Question Details.
- New battery.
- tried the download mode.
- clearing cache >>> battery and SD card removed and power button pressed for more than a minute. I think it was caused by: No idea at all - the phone wasn't updated either; seems very random and completely out of the blue.
