  • Check the microSD slot of your smartphone. It should be clean.
  • Use a can of compressed air on the microSD slot.
  • Push the microSD card further and deeper into the slot. Some microSD card feel thicker and need to be pushed until they are deeply inside the slot.
  • Insert the microSD card into your computer. Open File Explorer by pressing the Windows and "E" keys and right-click-the microSD drive. Choose "Format..." For the file system, pick "exFAT". Format the card. If it does not work again, then use "FAT32".
  • Test if the microSD card is not corrupted by using this application. It shows real space on the microSD card.
  • Check the Web site of the microSD manufacturer to see the list of compatible devices.
  • Test the smartphone with another 128 GB microSD, preferably Samsung or SanDisk, which should work with the smartphone.

How do I get my SD card to be "readable" again on my Samsung Galaxy S5 without losing all the information on it?

I tried to move a bunch of apps and files to my SD card to make space on my phone and now it is "not readable" on my phone nor on my computer. All the apps and files that were on my SD card are not accessible nor can I transfer them back to my phone because they can't be found. Can you help?. I have tried: Restarting my phone. Took out the SD card and replaced it into my phone. Put the SD card into my PC and it can't be read there either.. I think it was caused by: Transferring too many apps and files to the SD card that might also be incompatible.

I got a new SD card and it works part of the time, sometimes when I save photos it works, other times it just turns into a corrupted data of some sort making the files unusable on any platform, the file size and everything remains the same just nothing is able to be viewed
