Kies is telling me to restart my device, so I disconnected and reconnected the cable to my Samsung Galaxy S3?

What should I do when upgrading my device on Kies and it says restart device? I tried to fix the issue by disconnecting and reconnecting the cable but it says the same message again.

When Kies tells you to restart your Samsung Galaxy S4 while you're trying to update it, you need to restart your device. Any time you update your Samsung Galaxy S4's system software, you need to restart; this allows your device to finish the installation of its new software so it runs smoothly. If you don't restart, and instead just unplug and replug your device into your computer, your phone won't be able to restart to finish its installation process so it will just abort the installation entirely. When you plug your Samsung Galaxy S4 back into your computer and Samsung Kies starts updating it, follow the onscreen instructions so that you can successfully update your phone.
